Hello all, I have a vibration I’ve been dealing with for the better part of a year and it hasn’t gotten any worse so I’m out of ideas at this point. I just chalked it up to my h pipe and roush mufflers.

it does it in idle, and it does it all during driving.

it isn’t anything crazy. (I’ve driven in my dads truck that had a bad u joint and the whole vibration was like teeth chattering bad)

if I sit in neutral (manual car) and hold revs at around 2k rpms I can replicate what I’m experiencing when the car is under load.

like I said it’s been like this, the better part of a year since I installed my h pipe, is it seriously just possible that the pipes are hitting somewhere? Some have told me that it could be the resonance from the exhaust but idk man.

i don’t get any clunking during shifts, nothing. No clunks, no weird noises that I would think maybe an engine or tranny mount. Plus after it being like this for a year and not being any worse, I’d assume if it was something big, it would’ve damaged other parts by now.

Is an exhaust pipe hitting something solid?

I have no idea.

where would I check?

its been doing it for a while. It’s the only thing I can think of. I just watched my engine as my buddy revved it and the engine didn’t move at all

If you dont have a worn out rear transmission support brace bushings, also check clearance on your exhaust as well as manifold pipe. check for movement which contacts frame.

I can feel the car vibrating as soon as it starts. It always has a small vibration to it.

no movement upon revving the car but I can feel it in the body.

Either put it on jacks to verify what is causing your vibration or just take it to a shop to put on lift to locate cause.

Basically is any NVH normal at all for exhausts?
Maybe I’m overthinking it.
It seems to have done it since I installed an h pipe. I had done it myself but the shop had welded it weird so I made them fix it. It hasn’t gotten any worse over the last year so I’m assuming it’s just exhaust.

Even though my Car is loud, NO, NVH caused by exhaust is minimal at best. Are you still stock exhaust, DS, MM etc?

The engine and transmission will shift more under load. This could be causing an exhaust pipe to touch somewhere. Is your exhaust completely stock?

Nevermind. I just read your post above. I would check around the resonator and where the exhaust goes by the rear cradle.

I just don’t get what could be hitting. Is the only way to tell is rev the exhaust while someone is under the car? Not a huge fan of the idea.

Then I would start their. Sounds like one of your clamps is vibrating off of your frame but, either way I would inspect to find the cause. Good luck

You gonna have to put it up on jack stands or a lift and start looking and feeling around on the entire path that the exhaust system travels. I had this happen on my Tundra after I installed a cutback. I was able to loosen a pipe clamp, adjust the pipe, retighten the pipe clamp, and the problem was solved.
