I bought a retro style cue ball knob....but I can't remove the OEM leather knob. It just won't budge.

Any tips?

On my '16 I had to crank it off with a pair of pliers lol. They have it on their tiiight. I assume there was some sort of Loctite from the factory.

If it’s on there with some sort of thread sealer or lock, destroying the stock knob is really your only choice.

I wrapped mine with a towel and then took it off with channel locks.

It should just twist off. If they've been particularly liberal with the loctite at the factory then you'll have a HELL of a time getting it off. Wrap it in a towel, two hand grip, swear like you hate your mother and it should come off eventually.

Mine came off with a two handed grip&some colorful word choices:D
I to had a cueball and actually switched back as the factory knob has better grip&feel imo.
So colourful they're outside the visible light spectrum, I imagine.
