So I have been lurking these forums for quite a bit and dreaming over the s550 mustangs. But the time has finally come for me to get one of my own. Ater doing a bit of searching I found the perfect mustang. I have been looking at this one: LINK. For those who are too lazy to click, Its a 2016 Ecoboost Auto with reverse park assist in Ruby Red. I wanted to get a good idea of what I can expect to be paying in Colorado. The only incentive that I am eligible for is the $500 retail customer cash. I am also an eligible for x-plan pricing. Based on what I'm seeing people are negotiating similar cars below what I would get for X-plan. If that is true do I go without x-plan? How low do you guys think I can expect to go?

Thanks!!:ford:

If you have a COSTCO membership, that will be a better deal.

If you get the car for free, some one beat your deal, so don't what you read with skepticism.

Try true car. That's what I did and had a great experience.

I just got an EB Premium at about $4,000 under MSRP. It was between $1,000 and $1,500 under invoice. That's better than X-Plan. What you do is you go in and you negotiate. Try to get your price down. Shop around for similar cars (even if an option or two or color is different). Use that as part of your negotiation saying you found a similar car for better (if they do in fact give you a better deal). Don't mention X-Plan pricing until the end. You want them at their lowest offer. If that number isn't better than X-Plan...that's when you bring up X-Plan. That's a locked down number and once you go with X-Plan...there's no real moving off that price.

I would take anything you see on TrueCar with a grain of salt. I easily got a price significantly lower than the lowest price listed on TrueCar.com, and my car was an order.

Save yourself some time and just email a few dealers in your area and ask them to quote you their best price based on invoice. Also make sure that they include any dealer fees in their price. I was able to get $400 below invoice before rebates with no dealer doc fees on my new GT.
