Driving them. Especially when they feel good going into and through the corners at some "enthusiastic" pace - which varies depending on whether we're talking 'street' or 'track'.
And making thoughtful mods to improve the above aspects of performance (including the braking side of the coin).
It's a 'satisfaction' kind of thing as opposed to outright excitement, which in my opinion is easier to hang onto as it does not depend on any feeling that you might have to be impressing anybody but yourself.
