Lotus Exige S- Current / Black GT - On Order
*Patiently*(Topic typo)

Hi all!

I Have been lurking around for a while since I ordered my Mustang. I am nowhere near delivery but I paid a visit to Bristol Street Motors in Birmingham today and checked out there Black drop top GT which looked absolutely amazing in the flesh! I am super exciting about taking delivery of mine, although when I spoke to the saleswomen she informed me my order has not yet been committed so I think I have no idea when I will be receiving my car(I ordered at the end of October 2015).

The only reservation I have is the size of the thing, it is a big old barge compared to my current daily which is an Exige S. Bristol Street confirmed their demo will arrive late in February so hopefully I can have a go and that will put the size issue to rest. I must admit the lady i spoke to was very good and told me that Ford had shaved a couple of months off delivery times. Whether or not that is true I can't say, but she said it with enough conviction to make me think she is not telling a porky.

Anyway I can't wait to get my Black Fastback GT, then the modifications can commence!!!:headbang:

A fellow brummie, welcome!! I think you have a typo in your topic, it should say 'impatiently' waiting .

I'm with bristol street, who's your salesman/woman as mines their head of new car sales and his updates to me are limited, so maybe your woman is better! The info on my order dates are below. Dealers do require a bit of pestering to get updates.

You are correct, the GT for test drives does come in feb, and at that point their current 'show car' will be sold. Did you see the other 3 mustangs that were there (They may have gone now, but, if you do want to see: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39531)

There's a few things you might want to clarify before pickup if you do want/not want them:
Keeping the window sticker
Not putting the chunky plate brackets on (They will do sticky pads as they've agreed to with mine)
Keeping the 'travel covers'
PID occuring, or not if you're going to detail it

I'm in the same boat (lol get it?) as you, I'm moving from a 1.2L Corsa, to a 2.3L EB mustang, bit of a switchup. And a massive change in sizes of the car, pretty nervous but having test drive the EB in the states i'm not as worried as some, and a lot of people on the forums are saying that it doesn't take a long time to get used to, so that's good.

Did you get any extra's or just a straight black GT fastback manual?

Happy to see another Midland user on the forums, we'll have to go for a cruise when yours comes!

Bit OT; is your Exige the exige that was in Brindleyplace about a year ago, yellow with black details on it, I remember some guys low budget filming it for something when i'd walked out of work?

I hope it's not a 'faceback' you've ordered  Manders Mustang

I would reckon you're looking at May/June for delivery

It will be a mahoosive difference going from the Lotus to a Mustang :hail: I'm sure you'll cope

I actually ordered from Bristol Street in West Brom but i went to the Birmingham branch to see the Mustang. I can't remember the ladies name but probably the same one that your dealing with! My dealer has not communicated anything to me but to be fair with my order there is nothing to communicate at the moment.

I did not managed to see any other Mustangs would have been nice to see a fastback in the flesh though. My car has everything but the custom pack did not want chrome or silver wheels so opted not to get it.

Once we both have ours we should definitely organise something would be good to get all the Birmingham Mustangs in one place, my car won't stay standard for long so always looking for ideas on how to make it look even meaner then it does!

I have a black Exige as shown in the picture below. you may have seen my previous two car around Birmingham too as i worked in the City until just before xmas, now I am home based so thankfully i don't have to deal with the silly roadworks that are about!!

Ah okay! That explains the woman, i was almost certain there was one salesman for BSM Birmingham that did Mustangs (or so he told me!)

Fastback is much nicer in the flesh, although it still looks superb in pictures. Personally the verte does nothing for me what-so-ever, but i've never been of any form of convertible ;)

I'm with you on that, the nickel alloys and silver trim really put me off forking out extra for that pack, as I much preferred the black alloys and black surrounds, If i'd have bought the CP, i'd have immediately turned the chrome to black chrome and the wheels black - so a bit pointless!

Yep sounds like a plan, we've got a fellow user on MS6G that's in derbyshire and I know for a fact there's 12 other mustangs that've gone form the BSM Birmingham Dealership, wether or not they're as avid as us, i don't know. But will be worth a meet up.

I can't say i've seen either of your cars around Birmingham unfortunately, but i'm tied to my desks and would only have ever glanced at it in rush hour down broad street! But they do look gorgeous.

The mustang will feel like moving from a 1bedroom flat in central london to a 7bedroom palace out in the countryside compared to that exige!

I must admit I am also very anti-convertibles but the Mustang did look very nice, the side profile is almost as nice as a DB9 convertible. Although I am still after the fastback.

I hope those guy organise a meet because I would definitely attend regardless of whether I have my mustang at that point or not. My appetite has officially been whetted and I just want to stare at Mustangs allday, my wife is in for hell over the next few months, all I have been doing since i got home is googling 'black mustang 2016' and just watching CJ Pony exhaust installs!

My plans are too buy some new wheels and tyres more then likely in gold, as i like the gold and black contrast(as you can probably tell seeing the state of my Exige) then get the steeda handling pack to give it a better stance and a cat back exhaust. Hopefully by the time i get my car the aftermarket parts will be readily available in the UK because I don't want to buy from the US and then get hit with the import taxes:(

Have you got any plans for the Ecoboost? I am not sure if you are aware but there is a Ford specialist in Perry Barr called Pumabuild who will be developing EB and GT engine mods. I used them back when i have my first Focus ST and i have pretty much used them ever since, good banter too which is a bonus, so maybe worth considering when you get your car.

The U.K. Suppliers will still have to pay duty/VAT/their shipping then onward shipping and then they'll put a 20% mark up on the total. Ive tried UK suppliers, not them all, but it has always been far cheaper to import yourself.

That's not meaning any harm to UK suppliers, they have to make something, just not from me :D

You'll get used to the size soon enough after a bit of practice - make sure you get plenty being home based and all.

I went from an MG TF to a Jaguar XJ8. Got used to it after a couple of commutes and as you've had a 4 door saloon before, you'll already be used to something of those proportions.

Enjoy!

Side profile on the verte is gorgeous, but, 90% of the time the top will be up, and no thanks for paying extra for something I wont use (remind me of a woman on my commute to work, as long as it isn't raining her Jag will always be roof down and she'll be wrapped up... Pointless but getting her value lol!

Ha yes, i'm the same, but have been since the 2015 mustangs were announced, only managed to get financing and such in place in august (after a US test drive), fortunately no wife, kids etc or dependencies to worry about. All me me me and my dream car :headbang:

My Plans for the ecoboost are below, i'll be looking into exhaust mods closer to the time of delivery. I want to get it tuned and i'm currently being pestered by a few 'local' tuners to loan them my ecoboost for them to run tests on, which I'm not allowing them to do without some serious collateral heading my way should something fk up with them as the root cause, funnily enough their not too pleased about that suggestion...
Mountune will be releasing a EB tune in Q1 early Q2 of 2016 for the EB and are looking to get it "ford warranty approved" therefore, i'll probably go with them. However there's another local engine tuners called 'DK TUNING' who tend to claim BHP, Torque and MPG increases for EB engines, and claim they should be able to do the same with the mustang, which really makes me :love:. If your guys can do this i'll look into them as well, Talks in the states of tunes on the EB returning about +50BHP which is an absurd gain.

I've had about 7/8 soft tops, can't beat them with roof down, but the stang verte does nothing for me what so ever
Now, if they did a hard top convertible, like the Z4 I had a few years ago

Hard top verte's are fine, soft, meh, pannels -> win (Like the Mac 650S). I'm personally not a fan, messy hair and what not !
