No I reckon this car was a bad move. Had a 335d before which was a far better car. This one is more expensive to run and slower. The convertible was another of my itches. It's great when you can use it but not enough opportunity.
I suppose that is where opinion comes into it. I had a 335i but someone drove into me so i had a 335d from the insurance company while it was being repaired. I thought the 335d was an awful car, amongst other things it sounded like a tank/van!

OP, I traded in a 335is when I bought the Mustang and I actually didn't LOVE the car at first. I was so used to the BMW feel/size that the Mustang just felt very floaty, large, etc...but I knew that I needed a new car as the BMW was just out of warranty and things started to break down. Fast forward, and I grew to love the car more and more each day. Once you get over the big differences between a BMW and a Ford, you really can start to appreciate the magnificence of the S550 :) Good luck!!

Also was the only car i had and only car ill ever get with flappy paddle, but what made it worse was instead of right/left paddle being up/down shift it was pull/push to change gear.

Same, i had problems as soon as out of warranty with the turbo and stupid run flat tyres meant if you hit a pot hole it cracked the alloy.
Please tell me the Mustang does not have run flats?!

Yep...each to their own. I thought it was the best car I ever had. Highly recommend you stay well away from the 320d if you felt the 6 cyclinder sounded like a tank!

Had my V8 a week. Have put over 600 miles on it and it is better than I imagined. Firm suspension means it's rock solid at speed so drive it faster.

You get used to it. Currently the majority of my driving is on rough narrow country roads and the car is loving it.

Had the use of V8 M3 once. Handled and was fast but boring plus looked like any other rep mobile.

^^ This

The 320d sounds like a tractor. Even the wife's Cx5 diesel sounds better.

1. Sounds a bit quiet at idle and very low revs - don't really want to spend extra on upgrading the exhaust
2. The ride is really quite firm, I know people talk about it soaking up the bumps but I found it quite unsettled
3. The back end got a big wobbly just putting power down on a straight road - not perfect road conditions, but dry.
4. Gearbox felt a little too notch for my liking.
5. The quality of the sat nav really is quite poor - I'm comparing to my BMW iDrive
1: Yes they are a bit quieter than you might expect from a 5.0 V8, you can either live with that or opt for at the least the resonator delete X pipe from Ford Racing.

2: The ride is firm but personally I think it is quite well balanced between firm and being able to soak up the rough roads we get in England. How many miles did his car have on it? Mine felt quite unsettled for the first 1000-1200 miles. It now feels perfect and drives much much better (I've put this down to the P Zero's)

3: It's a Mustang, that is sort of what they do. If you don't like that then quite simply this is NOT the car for you.

4: The gearbox is poor, fair point.

5: The satnav is perfectly fine personally. Not quite as good as my S-Class but then again it's not an S-Class is a Mustang. It works perfectly well and advises of traffic up ahead. What more do you want?

By the sounds of it, you're looking for a car and not a Mustang. If you aren't set on owning one of these iconic cars because of what they are and what they do then I would bet you'll be a disappointed owner and just wish you went for one of the more boring but possibly better 'cars' from Audi/BMW/Merc...

Gotta say, it aint the car for you.
How can just watching a few vids after all the doubts post test drive make a difference. If you didnt leave the dealer grinning like a Cheshire cat then I would have doubts

Although already covered in most of the replies, my point of view is; don't get any kind of muscle car confused with a European sports car! Although the new Mustang has had many improvements for the Euro roads, it is still an affordable "muscle car" as described on the box...

During my order I nearly cancelled because of all the mucking about, but I knew full well that although alternatives (Euro sports cars) were about, I really went out to buy a Mustang and nothing else, and I knew that i would have regretted every moment in the alternative. Just the opposite scenario from somebody jumping out of a "safe choice Euro tin can" in to a Stang...

Don't buy if you have reservations as you will only hate it, which isn't what these cars are about, just drool over others coming down the road when you are in a safe alternative.

My personal preference is, drool and drive a stang
