Hey all, I'm wondering if this is normal or should not be happening:

It's still been a bit chilly here, so the past few days, I've used the remote start to let my car idle for a few minutes before driving off. Each time when I've sat down in the driver seat, to my surprise the seat was warm. I placed my hand on the passenger seat and it was warm as well - about what you would expect if the heated seats were turned on at the lowest setting. The only problem is they were not turned on at all.

Is this normal/has anyone else experienced this in their cars?

Remote start activates heated seats when it's cold and cooled seats when it's hot. This is from the manual but doesn't state exact temps defining "hot" or "cold".

Temps haven't been extreme enough here for me since Mustang delivery to see them activate. Perhaps it activates them but then switches them off when you start the car leaving them for you to re-activate if you want.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee activates heated seats and wheel during remote start at 40 degrees fahrenheit or below, but it leaves them on when I press the start button once inside the vehicle.

My wife's Dart has a setting that allows for the heated seats and heated steering wheel to be turned on with the remote start or not. The Dart also turns the heat on high with the remote start but it drops right down to the previous setting when you touch the door handle to unlock the doors.

The Mustang is a manual so no remote start.

In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F
(22°C). The cooled seats are set to high
(if available, and selected to AUTO in the
information display).

In moderate weather, the system either
heats or cools (based on previous
settings). The rear defroster, heated
mirrors and heated seats do not
automatically turn on.

In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The heated seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display). The rear defroster and heated mirrors automatically turn on.

These are the auto settings, you can also set the system to use your previous settings... Your choice.

Does anyone heated/cooled seats making a clicking sound when you turn them on/off? Mine started doing this around 600 miles, but i wonder if anyone else has it?

Mine has done it since beginning. It's the relays switching poles. Perfectly normal.

we'll since mine started clicking the cooling capacity has gone down. It used to be, on high, a weird wet sensation, now after 25mins of driving its barely getting cold.

I guess question now is, why wasn't it clicking before if that's suppose to be normal
