Spent a couple of weeks up in BC visiting wife's family and friends, the thought occurred to me that having a digital speedo that switches between SAE and Metric would be darn handy. Our analog speedo does great - IN THE STATES. However, take a trip north and try to accurately gauge your speed in KmPH....sigh.

Since our collision warning idjit light pops up as a "head's up", who mods this into a HU Speedo?? I'd jump on it in a heart beat! Added bling....gear position indicator? Not mando but nice to have...

I loved the HUD I had in my camaro. That is the one thing I miss most about my Camaro.

There is really only two speeds you need to know in Vancouver.

50kph = 30mph
80kph = 50mph

That is the majority of the speeds around town. If you're heading up the interior or Whistler, then you can just use the inner circle on the speedo - it's close enough.

However, I think that digital dials would be cool, versus analog gauges - I wonder if that is a government mandated thing??? Are there cars with purely digital gauges like McLaren, Ferrari, etc.?

Except if you actually go 50 in a 50 or 80 in an 80 here you better be in the right lane with your hazards on otherwise you'll be in the way of everyone...

We are 15 min from the Blaine Wa border and travel extensively in the States! The speedo is in bot KMs and Mph, however, the Mph is hard to see! I went into settings and changed it! Everything is in MPG, and when you "Set" the speed control, it comes up in Mph!! Easy peasy for hwy driving in the US.

But, having said that...I had it in our BMW and loved it!! Miss it on the Stang!

Bought mine last year. Now waiting for it to ship which should be in a couple of months.
Look forward to your review of it. My initial reservation is simply it is based upon a data plan that probably doesn't work outside the US. So my trips to Canada would show no change.

That navdy is just horrendous. Hopefully the retail design looks better because this looks like a cheap toy. Not to mention, absolutely huge for what it's supposed to do. I'd rather just stick my phone to the window.

Man if Ford starts putting a HUD in the Mustang, I might have to trade in again! The Navdy sounds like a nice alternative but agree, that thing is huge. Also I'd worry about it freaking out if I started talking to someone in the car, moving my hands around or even while talking on the phone and start trying to do something else.

Been using this ( Torque Pro ) for a couple years. I use one of the dozen android phones I have sitting in a drawer and bought an ODBII adapter on Amazon for $10. Or just buy a cheap Tracfone and don't activate it. Its got all the track apps and can overlay data on track video. It also has a HUD mode that reflects off the windshield. Total investment less than $50, including windshield mount. And as a bonus it reads/resets engine codes!
