Headers fitting into catback issue

2018 GT
18+ AWE touring catback has a 2.5 inlet neck down to factory headers. Stainless power has long lead 3" headers that I want to get but they wont fit into the 2.5 awe. Idk if previous awe catbacks had the 2.5 neckdown but how did you fit your headers on them. I guess cut the inlet and connect the 3" headers that way?

You would need factory connect connection pipes OR you can cut and weld a reducer on the ends of the connection pipes.

I’d cut the reducer off the cat back and just connect the catback directly to the 3” extension pipes because the catback is 3” pas the factory connection points, right?
