having trouble with nguage tune

Ive never used a handheld tuner so any advice would be great. First of all does the car need to be off, on acc, or running when i plug in the nguage for the first time? Secondly is it supposed to download the stock tune on its own? And lastly, the tune i got from beefcake is not showing up in the tuner??? when i click load tune there are no tunes to select from on the list even though i put the tune in the configs folder????? Thanks in advance guys!

I don't have the device in front of me but just plug it in and follow the prompts. I usually plug it in and turn ACC to on position. You may have to hit the "check mark" to confirm to the nGAUGE.

I don't think it will download the stock tune automatically. You will have to go through the menus and find that option and then follow the prompts. Make sure your memory card is in the device.

You should be loading the tunes into the "Custom Files" folder I believe, not the "Configs" folder.... Configs is for datalogging parameters.

The "stock files" folder will contain your stock tune once you have successfully saved it.

When you upload a new tune, it saves the stock OEM tune for you first then uploads the new tune

Not sure which vids you are watching... but here's one from Beefcake that shows he's loading tunes into the Custom Files folder.

So basically you need to save the base tune he sent you via email to the Custom Files folder on the nGAUGE and then it should show up for you when you go to load it on the car.
