There were a couple people that bought it, but no one has responded to my PMs.

I am going to buy it and modify the stock knobs to work instead of the cheap (IMO) looking ones that it comes with. The company stated this is possible, just requires the stock knobs to be trimmed. I will post more about it when I receive the kit.

looks like shit

knobs are terrible

great idea however, wish someone would build a nice looking one.

imho its worth $75 at most considering the build quality.

It's a step in the right direction. Maybe it will lead to more ideas.

i really hope that someone does build a nice one.

not to keep knocking audiodesign, but they're previous generation one looked so much nicer.

i wouldnt be complaining if it were $100 or less, at all.

with all of the SYNC upgrade/tomtomopop quirks, id be much happier with an actual ipad. it would be nice if, after the ipad was placed in, it looked a little more integrated. like, you wouldnt be able to take the ipad out without popping the addon piece off first(magnetic right?) when the ipad is in it looks more OEM, less likely to be stolen.

I agree, the kit they created for the previous gen Mustang looks a lot cleaner. I'd be interested to know why audiodesign chose to go the route they did with this S550 dash kit.

My question is: If you get a kit like this and throw an Ipad in your dash, can you hook it up fairly easy to the car stereo so all sound comes through the car speakers? Also, wouldnt you need one HELL of a data plan with whatever wireless provider the Ipad is hooked up through in order to use Pandora, youtube, FB, google maps / waze, or dam near anything in the car?

Not sure about the first question. I have T-mobile and my music streaming doesn't use any data so that helps out a TON!!! Certain video streaming doesn't use data either so I would be ok there.

If you charge over USB from your cars USB port the sound will also be sent over USB. Things like Pandora, Google Maps, and iTunes will all work fine.

The car will see the connection and resume audio on start. When you turn the car off the music will pause.

You wouldnt need a crazy data plan for Pandora or Waze. With AT&T, its $10 to add a tablet to my plan.
