I called today to check coverage with State Farm for my 2016. I have a 900A ordered, but I also wanted to check the "R" too. They only showed one choice for a Shelby GT350.

FWIW, I was quoted $105 per month for $0 deductible comprehensive and $1000 collision. Compared to my wife's '15 GT/PP at $87 month for the same coverage. We have zero issues with our driving records and have multiple discounts with State Farm. I wonder if I should check elsewhere for coverage. This car will not be a daily driver (neither is the GT/PP car).

I was quoted a very similar price from State Farm. I have quite a few policies with them, am 27, and have a good driving record.

I think it raised my premium $7 and some cents over the 2015 GT.

Go to Hagerty and get a quote. This is what I carried on my 2003 10th Anniversary Cobra. I did a value stated policy with 3k miles a year.

My dad has been using them for well over 20 years for all of his classic muscle cars. They have been awesome to work with on claims, etc.

I have a policy through them on my '70 Convertible. Very inexpensive and perfect if you won't be driving the car much. I think they allow driving to work 5 days per year and then you can also drive to shows.

I called Hargerty, they told me the car was going to have too high a production # and will not insure it under a classic policy. 15's maybe a different story though. But I'm purchasing a 16. I called Grundy and got a quote for $801 a year with no deductible. I had travelers give me a quote, who has my auto and homeowners and they quoted me $841 a year with a $500 deductible.

That is interesting. My Cobra was 1 of 2003 made. That is odd they would not offer a quote for a new GT350 (even a 2016). I would call back and try to talk with someone else or ask a for a manager. Wonder what is limited in their view? Odd for sure.

I have a 2015 coming and called Hagerty a month ago. They'll insure a 2015, but as stated, that's due to the low production numbers of the car. The production number is what helps them determine a "future classic."

Hope this helps!

That's what I figured. But in going to give it 1 more try.

If you don't mind what did they quote you?

No problem! However, mine is a bit convaluted, as I already have a 1965 and a 1966 (1965 Shelby R Clone) insured through them - those come to $665/year in total for both. It was $225/year additional to insure the 2015 Shelby GT350 with a zero deductible and a total value of $73K...just in case :D.

My wife and I each have a daily driver; which helps a lot with price (and they are insured through Geico). Hagerty doesn't like it when you don't have a daily driver, even when you live in a city with great public transportation like Chicago :(

I'll be using USAA for my insurance, per the usual. Don't have a quote yet, I can grab one if someone wants.
