For me it was the shift logic. The Shelby makes a determination and 99% of the time it's on point. The Corvette in Z mode seemed to "hang" in one gear without making an upshift. This is my subjective review. Also the "Hits" in the GT500 in Sport mode or Track really snap. The C8 seemed lumbering..... Again this was a base C8, NOT a Z06. Two worlds and dollars apart."TRANSMISSION!!!!!!" ??? Really, that much of a difference they are both Tremec DCTs.
lol I'd hope a mid engine sports car that weighs 500 lbs less would take us in the cornersI've never ridden in a 500, but I did go from Detroit to Charlotte in a '23 Z06 last November. That thing pretty much sh!ts it & gets it. The 500 might take it in a straight line, but don't bother trying to hang with it in the corners. You won't.
The C8 Z06 is twice as expensive as the GT500 though. The Z06 on track is absolutely faster on the track, no questions about that. But where I'm wondering is if its worth the almost 100K more you'll pay to own the z06... its one hell of a car, but a GT500 isn't that far behind.I've never ridden in a 500, but I did go from Detroit to Charlotte in a '23 Z06 last November. Where are you finding 200K ZO6s listed? The C8 Z06 is twice as expensive as the GT500 though. The Z06 on track is absolutely faster on the track, no questions about that. Where are you not ?!! They are 140k msrp and with market adjustment most are in the 200k range.Where are you finding 200K ZO6s listed?
ahh yeah with markup, i thought you meant sticker price, in which case you'll be hard pressed to find a 500 at sticker these days either.Where are you not ?!! They are 140k msrp and with market adjustment most are in the 200k range.

Fair, but markup is still required to own the vehicle, so I include it in the value of the car. Also you can get a new GT500 CFTP for about 100k nowadays.ahh yeah with markup, i thought you meant sticker price, in which case you'll be hard pressed to find a 500 at sticker these days either.
I know there is a lot of discussion on here about ADM all the time, i'll let someone else take the hit of paying over sticker first...hahaFair, but markup is still required to own the vehicle, so I include it in the value of the car. Also you can get a new GT500 CFTP for about 100k nowadays.

GT500?Yeah, I got my 23 GT for invoice price!
No GT 5.0GT500?
Oh ok, no offense but those are two drastically different cars. I am not sure i've ever seen a markup on a regular GT, those damn things are a dime a doze in these parts. No GT 5.0
I wasn't comparing the two at all. You may not find GTs with markup but you would be hard pressed to find one for invoice price (different than msrp).Oh ok, no offense but those are two drastically different cars.
