That's still pretty rare, though. I think I've seen maybe 2 or 3 and I live in one of the richest areas in the nation.

Meanwhile, I see 5 E92 M3's on a daily basis.
They are more rare than any M3 or M4s. I've seen 5 this year scattered around L.A., Pasadena, B.H., Newport Beach.

Test drove one last month at Rusnak Pasadena with a buddy. Nice car, nice sound, redline is up there, low end torque was lacking a bit but did not detract at all from the overall appeal of the car.

Yeah the RS5 is definitely nice, but I just don't think it's 70-80K nice at all.

For the price, rather get an S5 and mod that.

lol no one in their right mind would buy a rs5 at that price.
the handling is horrible, car is heavy 4000+ lbs, not to mention it has 0 advantage over e92 m3 which is the benchmark in that class for decades.

that explains why it is 'rare', but in reality it is more b/c it is 'sh*t'

I wouldn't consider it crap, but its no track car even though VAG might market it that way. In reality its a GT car not really meant to go head to head with more foucsed track cars. I would consider it a for a daily driver. Its great for that, but its not crap.

I agree with blkandgud in that if I was in the market for that segment, I would opt for an S5 and mod it a little instead of an RS5. The premium for an RS5 over an S5 isn't justified for the increase in performance.

The Audi RS5 is an excellent car. Its just at over 4k lbs. it really is a different kind of car then a GT350 or even the older E92 M3.

Here is a test sheet from Car and Driver...pretty quick the RS5, just not as quick or precise as the older E92 M3.

I'm not including the new F8X cars as being FI its a different driving experience.

Of the 2, between the GT350 and the RS5 I say GT350 all the way.

If I had to choose one, GT350 for sure.

In a fantasy world, why not have both!

My friend has the RS5 - there are a few where I work. I had the chance to drive it. My thoughts:

Engine is rev happy but weak - there is no torque to speak of. It really shows DDĂng, where torque matters. The 5.o has wayyy more torque - it just feels like a better motor.

It is an understeering pig, especially in tight turns and track. It likes long sweepers. It has no-where close to the front cornering bite of the GT-PP.

RS5 feels very stable and numb. There is no steering feedback, but its tracks straight and true. The GT-PP feels stable but more agile.

RS5 is extremely difficult to rotate with the throttle. While it has trick diffs, its just not the same as the Torsen and RWD.

RS5 has a nicer interior, but not THAT much better than the GT-PP.

The RS5 is maxed out from the factory, the Mustang has a much better aftermarket for take it in different directions (drag, track monster etc).

There is no comparison between an RS5 and GT350 - I guess, as I feel the GT-PP is a much better car than the RS5.
