GT350 Steering wheel

I'm sure this has probably been answered at one point in the thread but not wanting to comb through 100 pages, it just seems easier to ask. Can you do this mod for an automatic?

Yes. You just transfer everything off the back of the steering wheel onto the new one

I think it's dependant on your wheel being straight now

The white stripe (or red) probably accentuates when the wheel is off center. It's hard to notice with stock wheel.

The wheel is keyed so it can only go on as straight as your wheel is today, but the wheel itself isn't coming crooked

Right, but if the wheel hex itself is somehow slightly crooked, the wheel will be off. With my wheel, I noticed that my GT350 wheel is crooked by the spokes on the wheel, not the stripe. The spokes on my stock wheel were straight.

Regarding the stripe on the wheel: If you look closely at a lot of different wheels, it looks like many of them have stripes that are ever so slightly off center (relative to the spokes), which is likely due to how they are stitched and assembled. Not a big deal to me, but may be to some.

Not necessarily. Different roads have different crowning. So the steering wheel won't be in the same orientation when going straight because its turned different amounts to compensate.

I have my GT350 steering wheel but haven't installed it yet.
I did an alignment 3 times with my stock steering wheel and still crooked.
Very upset
