oh...I was at the NYC auto show today and according to the Ford representative at the show, the GT350-R is 5 seconds faster than the Z28 at the Nurburgring. The data and videos will be released sometime in the summer before the car goes on sale late fall.
Except that the Z/28 has the stickiest / largest rubber of any car in the world. In Car and Driver's recent article on the LaFerrari, they quoted a Ferrari spokesman who commented (in effect) that they refused to use the Z/28's aggressive rubber on the LaFerrari because it wasn't streetable.I would hope the GT350R Could beat the Z/28 by at least that much given how long the Z/28 has been out and available to benchmark against.
The GT350R is a perfect match for the Z28, they are both designed specifically for the track. The Z28 is track monster just like the GT350-R, the normal GT350 is another story - that was built to be a daily drive-able car.Except that the Z/28 has the stickiest / largest rubber of any car in the world. In Car and Driver's recent article on the LaFerrari, they quoted a Ferrari spokesman who commented (in effect) that they refused to use the Z/28's aggressive rubber on the LaFerrari because it wasn't streetable.
The GT350R won't have that. I would be SHOCKED if the GT350R is faster than the Z/28. The Z/28 is a non-driveable track monster that could never in a billion years be used as a daily driver. The GT350R isn't that.
