i raced a m4 today and my gt is procharged.
we did 40mph pulls and i was surprised that he stayed next to me.
i did have 2 passengers so that about 300lbs.
do you guys think a stock m4 could keep up with me or maybe it was modded too?

An all probability it was stock. People don't understand how fast they really are.

BMW highly underrates the power of the M4.

Simple tune gains those cars a ton. I have a close friend that has one and they can get close to 500 at the wheels with a tune. Also they are a couple hundred pounds liter. So the weight difference was probably closer to 5-600 pounds once you figure in your extra passengers.

The extra passengers probably made a bigger difference than you would think. what kind of horsepower are you putting down? I've seen the procharger kits put anywhere from 475-800rwhp down.

by any chance anyone know of a good dyno place in san diego? i got quoted $150 for 3 runs, not sure if its a good price since ive never dynoed a car.

VW/Audi do the same thing. I think German cars are underrated in power from the start.

The new M4's are no joke.

ECU/Tune with aftermarket airfilters and stock charcoal filters removed, my M4 put out 468 rwhp / 454 rwtq on dynojet. With 12% drivetrain loss, that equates to 532 bhp / 516 tq. DCT is a lightning fast transmission. Best (stripper) weight for an M4 is 3559 lbs.

Depending on what your car's pushing, you'll most likely have to be an above average to a good driver to take down a conservative tune only M4. If the M4 turns up the boost and runs a down pipe and 100 octane, you'll probably need an S550 pushing more than 600rwhp to take it down. But, lots of variables in this scenario...we're bench racing now.

I'd take it to the dyno and make sure you are producing the right amount of boost. Stock HO kit should be around 550rwhp which should easily walk a stock m4.

This is right on the money. S550 5.0 with 550rwhp should take a stock M4 unless you're yawning between shifts (kidding of course).

If you add the weight of the two passengers and a tune on the m4 he should have walked you. So more than likely he was stock.
