Greetings from Sydney!

As you guys may be aware (or not lol)... we're officially getting the Mustang over here at the end of the year. Can't wait!

BUT... unfortunately there are quite a bunch of unwanted changed from the ones you guys have.

Wondering if anyone knows where I can get a hood (OEM or aftermarket). One that has the vents on them. Because the Kangaroo version Mustang does not come with vents :headbonk:

I think you might mean the Roush heat extractors which you can get directly from www.roushperformance.com or www.americanmuscle.com. The Roush ones are supposed to be bigger and better. I saw another post where a yellow GT was on display for Australia and it had the stock hood with the stock vents. In any case I am sure by the the time your orders arrive there will be some hoods in the salvage yard or someone selling on ebay take off parts that they have upgraded.

Nah I meant the actual hood man lol

The one on display on the Sydney thread, thats a LHD model that has the stock USA hood. Our release ones (And Euro Mustangs) won't have vents. It's just a flat hood with no vents.

okay gotcha ... used or like new take off hoods will be available you just have to keep your eyes open for ebay or even the classifieds on this site.

I am sure FORD has the USA 2015 hood as a replacement part for accidents and repairs...

other than that .... not even sure if the vented hood may fit

hey did you have some pics of the euro or flat hood?

Yeah I don't know if Ford USA will ship them here

Maybe I'll try asking the dealer if they can get one in.

I think the Euro forums will have plenty of pics. I'd link one but I'm using my phone to type this lol

Well, I'm pretty sure that there's no such thing as "Euro flat hood", but just the "no GT cars hood", just like the V6 and EB get, with no vent

I'm pretty sure your correct. The OP must have seen a 4banger or V6 display model.

GT. No vents. Euro. Not 4banger. Not V6.

Complete with dumbo side mirrors and clear tails. No tri bar DRL either.

Now... back on topic, where do I buy the vent-ed hoods

:D

Now i get it thanks for posting.. to get a used vented hood you would have to make a deal with someone in USA that is has swapped their hood or willing to go to a salvage yard to ship one over for you .. that may be quite expensive...and also since FORD is exporting these s550's then I am sure they will export parts too.. you would just need the part number for a USA hood for accidents and repair.. but once again very expensive for the first few years.

If it were me I would more than likely go after market with a functional ram air hood or if really want to customize you could try this website for a different type hood

They are fiberglass GT hoods expecting hoods in soon.

No I wasnt saying you were wrong, but more that the Europe + Rest of the world GTs seemed to be getting the non GT hood from America ;)

go after market and pay to have a Cervini hood shipped ..see site below

I can image thousands of USA GT owners going for an after market hood like Cervini's so you will get thousands of chances to get their slightly used take off part
