Hey,

When I first got this car, the first to second shifts would be delayed and I could hear a rattle/grind noise from the engine bay. That was the only time I could hear it, is when the first to second shifts would redline the engine.

Fast forward to today and I started hearing the same noise, but when I was accelerating from a stop or when travelling slow, at around 2000 RPM. Once you get past 2000-2300 RPM, the sound seems to disappear.

Here is a video. You can hear it around 2000 RPM, when I let off the gas and the RPMs drop. It does it about 5-6 times in this video.

Anyone know what it could be or have this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Nate

I've had it since 6miles on my ecoboost. Still haven't gotten an answer as to what it is and I now have 2600 miles

This is what I was experiencing. Was told it was heat shield. They have re welded it (twice already). Starting to get really annoyed with it to be honest. Currently it seems to have worked this time.

Mine was doing the same thing. There is a tsb for it. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31234
That sounds like it is exactly the problem.

SSM 45172 - 2015 3.7L And 5.0L Mustang- Exhaust Rattle, Knock Noise
Some 2015 Model Year Mustang vehicle built on or before 3/30/15, equipped with 3.7L Duratec 4V and 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engines may exhibit exhaust rattle/knock noise emitting from the muffler resonator. Elevating idle to 1500 RPM and performingthrottle tip-in, tip-out events in neutral will assist in confirming noise concern and is not to be confused with an exhaust leak that was addressed with a previously released TSB on 2015 Mustang 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 equipped vehicles. Updated muffler resonator assemblies are now available to resolve vehicle concern. Reference Workshop Manual Section 309-00B or 309-00C Exhaust System for component location and Removal and Installation procedure.
I'll try taking the car in next week, to see if they can replace the resonator assembly.
