Just preordered my 2015 Mustang in DIB - I want to go for the GT500/Eleanor look with the headlamps in the grill, similar to the images below. How would one go about ordering these? Can an amateur like me install them, or (seeing as they likely need access to the car's electrical system) is the dealer/garage needed?

You must be new to mustang ownership. I guarantee the after market will have elanore grills out by Christmas. And, yes they are super easy to install. You just need a set of socket wrenches and about 45 minutes of free time. Check out Cervini's website when you get a chance.

Yup you are spot on - after being a Mustang fan since I was a kid, I'm joining the Mustang family.

Any other tips/suggestions for a first time Mustang owner?

Congrats! You're going to love it! Get a subscription to 5.0 Magazine and a good set of winter tires. I would also say with mods, especially body mods, you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheap grill, it will cracked, peel and look like crap within a year or two.

Just a heads up, it may not be street legal to have four fog lights down low arranged like that. If I'm not mistaken that is... But with this mustang already having a set of fog lights standard, it may be worth looking into in your state. Just a thought.

I've been hoping/expecting that the aftermarket will provide a foglight (upper) grill. That's one of the aspects I liked best about the S197 cars, and was disappointed it was done away with. To me, its the perfect place to mount not fogs, but long-range driving lights. I'm a long time rally guy and have mounted aftermarket driving lamps on pretty much everything I've owned, except my current Mustang (mainly because I haven't found a good way to).

Here's another newbie question:
Since the lights are installed aftermarket, how are they controlled? Will they be linked to the existing fog lamps? Or does an additional switch need to be installed in the cockpit?

The ones for the S197 use the existing wiring harness and fog light switch. I would assume it will be the same way for the S550, but no way to tell for sure until the cars and the aftermarket grills start hitting the streets.

Aftermarket lamps can be operated any way you want to wire them. They can be tied to the existing fog light wiring, to the low beams, or could be wired completely separate. If you're installing fogs, then the easiest thing would be to use the stock wiring harness (assuming all cars are wired for fogs) as the means of controlling the relay for the aftermarket fogs, using an OEM switch inside the cabin.

If you wanted to install driving lights instead (like I would), then a new wiring harness for the lights would have to be added and tied to the high beams. In that case, they could be wired to switch on any time the high beams are on, or could be given their own switch to turn them off separately.

An upper grille with a set of 4300k HID's or 3000k yellow fogs would be a Great driver's assist tool! It seems that for me, I can Never have enough light! Besides, it looks Nice!

The lower grille would be harder to make because of people that have the adaptive cruise option. I believe that the radar is part of the lower grille, but could be wrong.

Do you mean connecting to the stock LED fog lamps? There's no reason that you couldn't use that circuit to trigger a relay in a dedicated circuit for another set of lights. The extra lights would have to be wired to carry whatever amp draw that they need, use their own fuse, etc. The relay is simply a remotely controlled heavy duty switch; that switch can be triggered by anything you want, but it will handle the actual current going to the new lights (so it doesn't impact the existing LED wiring). If you use the existing wiring to operate the relay, then the aftermarket lights will turn on/off as the OEM ones would.
