Hello,

As the title says, I was rear ended a few days ago. As soon as it happened I called my insurance (State Farm) who told me to call the cops. So I called the cops and they told me since no one was hurt I wold have to wait 2 hours for an available unit. The other driver was very hesitant to exchange information with me and asked me how much a new bumper would cost. So I ended up calling my buddy who is the parts manager at the dealership I bought my car from and asked how much a new bumper + paint matching would cost. He gave me a rough estimate, and the person who hit me was willing to pay me for it. Since the damage is superficial I felt a little better about it. Doing a little research I found a website that sells Ford OEM parts for kinda cheap, I don't know if its too good to be true.

I just need the cover. I have looked extensively and could not find any other damage. Does anyone have any experience with this website? Any input would be appreciated!

I have attached the picture of my car to this post.

All the more reason to get as much information as possible from the person and the vehicle and report them to your insurance company (if they won't show you their Insurance cards or Driver's license, take pictures of the driver, their license plate, and VIN tag in the windshield). You can still file a claim and file a follow-up report with the police in person at the station, Letting them know the other individual refused to provide the required information on demand.

For purchasing the bumper, go with Levittown or Tasca. They usually have the best prices and their service is top-notch.

Thanks for the reply! It was my first time being in any sort of accident, and quite frankly I didn't really know how to react. I was nervous and didn't know what to do. After a while I was able to get his insurance card. But his money offer was pretty good. I just looked on Tasca and found my bumper cover for $333 (Thats 200 cheaper then my dealer quoted me). Luckily it was just a bumper cover.

fuck that guy he would not provide any info, which is shady in itself whos going to pay for any additional damage the incident may have caused. look at your taillights im sure they are cracked at the bottom. they are about $1000 a piece when i was rear ended the taillights cracked and it was a small dent on my bumper, also what about when your body aches start, or if you need to get checked out. i learned at an early age always call and wait for the cops after an accident because 9 times out of 10 the person will change their story with their insurance company, or just not pay for your repairs and then your stuck with it. with a police report theres less back and fourth also your vehicle loss value after the accident whos going to pay that. it could easily be worth 1500 less after the repair is done. dont mean to sound like a dick just always wait for the cops. in most states its illegal to leave an accident scene without a police report which can lead to a refusal to pay the claim on the insurance end. but if hes going to pay take it to the dealer and get it fixed locally and correctly with warranty dont complicate yourself to save the guy a few hundred bucks.
