So I got backed into as I was pulling into my offices' parking lot today. The driver of the other vehicle admitted fault and everything looks like it should be covered.

My question is, should I take my car to Ford to fix this or would it be better or the same if I went to a dedicated Auto body shop (there are many around me).

My car is Ruby red so I know paint matching will be an issue...

Ouch! Sorry to hear about that.
My personal experience with Ford body shops makes me say "Hell no"! Stay away. Look for a body shop, drop by and talk to the guys with your car. Let them see it and give you an honest opinion. Also look at there work. Any shop that is proud of what they do will be happy to " show" you what they do. Interview a few. I'm sure once you do this, you'll find your shop!
Last shop I got a recommendation to was at a car show. Three cars there, that were beautiful, were done there... Word of mouth is also great. Best of luck.

Same thing happened to my Ruby on Monday, Jerry. See the link below. Almost $4k in estimated damage.

I think I've found a really good shop here in Austin to do the repairs. They are a certified shop for Bentley, Jaguar, Aston Martin, etc.

My advice would be to try and find a similarly certified shop in your area.

I'm thinking if Bentley and other high end manufacturers have certified them, they must be doing something right.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you. I feel your pain.

sigh...sucks to here.

But i have said this many time. Everyone should know right now where you will take your car if you have an accident tomorrow. Many times, you wont be ale to drive your car and willl have to tell a flat bed driver where you want your car.

Dealer body shops are hack straight out of trade school, or not motivated enough to make it to a good shop.

Word of mouth is gold. find a shop with a good reputation. go visit them. look at their work. And have their card with you in case you ever need it. I could be 1,000 miles away, and i will pay to have my car taken to my shop because i have 30 years experience with their work.
