We are doing some tuning and for some reason the motor goes to dead pedal limp mode when we go over 6500 rpm? the map does not show anything wrong? air/fuel, oil temp and pressure, trans, etc all good temps and pressure.. water temp at 190 -

Sounds like a 2016 model, Is this a tech or a track pack? I assume your still using the tremec with the 5.2 engine harness? i'll give you all of the marbles at once, if its the 2016 tech transmission then after it reaches 275 F it puts the car in limp mode and you can only up shift to avoid the issue and it won't let you go WOT.

Thanks - it’s a 2016 Motor / Trans with a full Haltec ecu& harness - no sensor in trans or diff - extra oil abs trans cooler + accusump - note this motor is not in the GT350… it’s in this falcon

You should talk with Haltec then.

It has nothing to do with Ford ECU.

Cool project. Good luck.

They are the ones building the map... just not seeing what is triggering it for some reason? maybe bad throttle body?

TB wouldn’t be RPM linked. You would see that all over the range.

Are you using crank sensor or cam sensors for ingition and fuel trigger?
If the ECU and MAP are good, that is where I would look first.
Get spares if you try swapping out.

Sounds like you're hitting a guardrail in the ECU. Two things to check - first, is there a setting you haven't adjusted, and second, will the ECU handle a V8 at more than 6500 RPM. You might be running out of headroom.

Check throttle body. Easy check. I have a hellcat and we solved limp mode issue, kept cutting off at the top of rpm range. Couldn’t figure anything out in tune. Ended up being a weak throttle body motor on the whipple.
