Greetings:

This is my first post on this forum.

I currently own a 2010 GT Convertible but have placed an order for a 2015 GT Fastback (I should take delivery in February). We like to travel and the fastback has a bit more room than the convertible.

I have two questions that I can’t find the answers to:

1. Does the 2015 Fastback have a built-in roll bar in the roof? By the way, I did not order the PP.

2. After I take delivery, can I mount a PP tower strut brace to my non-PP GT (i.e., will it fit)?

Thanks for your help.

No roll bar and yes you can install a strut tower brace. You can get one from Ford or go to someone like Roush. Also, having had a 2011 GT convertible I know you will have a lot more space and with the fold down back seats, I believe it is 50/50. it will add even more if needed. Good luck with the new GT.

No rollbar, but check the thread on here from user "GT"... He was flipped upside down by a drunk driver and skidded on the roof, car held up fine and no injuries.

To your question 1, the Fastback has more shoulder and hip room than the convertible, as well as trunk space, but if you travel with 4, the Fastback has much less headroom so make sure you check that part out. May not be an issue if you are primarily travelling as a pair only. I ruled out the Fastback for that reason primarily, hoping the Vert has similar headroom to the '14 which is totally sufficient.

Thanks for the information. I may add a brace since I like the looks of them. cbrookre: We had thought about the backseat comfort but as it is just my wife and I, the only passenger we will be taking is our Border Collie. He doesn't require too much head room.

Thanks again.

That works then! :) Your four legged friend will be plenty comfortable.
