So it seems the automatic GT comes standard with the 3.15 gears with an optional 3.55...

I cant get the Performance Pack on the automatic so I am stuck with those choices at order.

This car will be my daily driver and I will do some drag racing casually with co-workers just for fun and bragging rights.

Should I just order with the 3.15 and buy some Ford Racing 3.73 or 4.10s to throw on after the car is delivered?

If so which should I buy or am I totally off on those choices? I dont plan on putting on a supercharger at anytime and will likely just get the car tuned at my local performance shop and throw on a few more easy mods like brakes etc etc.

Any advice is welcome! Thanks.

Id just get the 3.55 from factory. Not much diff from 3.73's. My buddy running 10.6x with blower, vmp pulley, tune and drag radials with 3.55 auto '13

I would say this depends a lot on what you want from the car down the road. If you think you'll ever go for FI I would avoid the 3.73 and up gears. However, if you want to squeeze every bit of performance out that you can and you don't care at all about highway mileage you could consider changing gears after you take delivery.

Myself, I would order the 3.55 and be done. Swapping gears is no simple task and in my experience isn't easy to find someone credible and capable to do the job and do it right. It also isn't exactly cheap.

I agree on 3.55, it's the best combo of performance/mpg. I think you can spend the money better on other things and be happy with 3.55 rather than going 3.15, swapping etc. It'll probably cost 4-5x as much to go to 3.73 or higher and past 3.73 the driveability gets funky for a DD (at least IMO)

why not get the manual so you can get the package?
Had a manual for my last 2 mustangs and REALLY dont want a manual for a daily driver again. Ever. Plus the auto comes with all the fun stuff now. I am really looking forward to it. The PP is not worth driving a manual in traffic everyday.

Thanks for the replies. I may just go the easy route as suggested so far and order the 3.55. Seems I will have to start saving for wheels and tires right from the beginning anyway.
