So i was just looking through the order guides and i noticed that on the premium gt there are selectable driving modes and on the standard gt it doesn't list it. So my question, will the base gt not get different driving modes?

Well he can leave a deposit with the dealer and they are usually refundable.

The twin scroll turbo should help with that but of course there is going to be a little bit of lag. I'd imagine its going to be very similar to the new wrx, a little bit of lag and then it builds progressively.

Right there with you. Good performance and decent mpg. Better than my 1.9l z3 that a go kart could outrun.

I am well aware of that, but for the street, not sure if it's going to be all that useful.

Im going for the ecoboost. Low end torque plus a decently snarly sound is a win for me.

Good to hear that they are somewhat pleased with the noise however, i've noticed that people are saying it doesn't "feel" as fast as maybe it should. For all we know it could be that the engineers were not really giving it their all(during the test drives) or the ecoboost isn't as spectacular as...
