It should say 3.55 option on your window sticker. If says nothing you have the dreaded 3.31's (just kidding)
Under the car there should be a sticker on the differential that says the gearing.
Also on the door jam under gearing ( I think) says DD for the 3.55's and BB for 3.31.

Thank ya big time it doesnt say anything. So i do have the horrible 3.31, they are not a bad gear but i do agree the car feels too sluggish for me. Guess i have my first mod planned for this car :/

Can someone tell me how to confirm what gear is in the car? I have looked over all paperwork and can not find any def info on whether it is 3.31 or 3.55?

If you open the door. Theres a sticker on the bottom which shows the VIN and Tire pressure etc...

The Ford axle ratio codes are:

BB - 3.73 ratio
CC - 2.73 ratio
DD - 3.55 ratio
GG - 3.31 ratio
YY - 3.15 ratio

I can cross the finish line in 4th with 3.73's before hitting the rev limiter.

You are not going fast enough.

From my experience:

For the MT82:
3:31
Pros:
Can hit 60 in second gear
Can go through the ¼ mile traps in 4th gear
Higher top speed
MPG’s
Cons:
Feels sluggish/soft
Doesn’t feel like enough gear
6th gear too low

3:55
Pros
Can hit 60 in second gear
Can go through the ¼ mile traps in 4th gear
The perfect gear on stock tire size
Cons:
None lol, perfect rear gear for the MT82 gearing imo.

3:73
Pros
Should be the quickest on a taller tire
A little livelier than the 3.55’s
6th more useable
Cons
More shifting
Barely hits 60 in second
Need to shift into 5th going through the ¼ mile traps
Less traction in first
Lower top speed
Less mpg’s
