So I just recently bought a 2016 GT350, non R. While I love the front end, I do want to make it a little more aggressive. I had an APR CF splitter on my 2015 Mustang GT and loved it. Excellent build quality and really set off the look of the front of it. But, the splitter designed for the GT is far too narrow for the GT350. So I got in contact with APR and will be going to them on Wednesday for them to make a template and talk about possibly doing a group buy. He quoted me as their normal price is around $430, but said we would talk about group buy pricing when I get there. I just want to try and get an idea of how many people would be interested in something like this so I have some kind of numbers to work with when we talk. Here is a pic of one on a regular mustang

I've been thinking about putting together a CF splitter group buy. Thanks for beating me to the punch.

If it looks roughly like the stock R splitter I'm in.

we have a front diffuser, so can't just slap one under the front and have it work right.

All I can say to that is I had a splitter that wasn't installed correctly from the dealer. I drove it fast, very fast. The stock splitter pulled itself off the front end and eventually scraped because it sat lower.

This tells me that the stock splitter does its job in that it aerodynamically was pulling down on the front end. Had it been secured properly, it would have never departed and provided ample down force.

That being said, at the track attack, I pushed that damn 350 about as hard as you could. I found the down force, combined with the super sports to be excellent. This overall product has been tuned by ford performance for each car (R, track pack, etc) and I'm not sure if a splitter change without a spoiler change would be ballanced.

Now if you are just looking for a R looking splitter and you are modifying the car for looks, have at it.

Yeah, I'm sure this will only be an appearance mod from them. It will be something that I will remove before hitting up a track. But something I think will look good for everyday driving around. I don't expect this to be functional like the R splitter, and while I would love the R splitter and it looks awesome, I won't be dropping the crazy amount of money it cost.

That's too bad it won't be functional. I wouldn't pay money to take away function for form, but good luck to the interested parties on getting the GB together.

Im a bit confused on the wouldn't be functional. Splitter extension usually makes a difference although, Im not sure how it affects the balance

Problem is with this for me is.... I do the splitter then I will want to do the whole damn car front to back inside and out. It's a slippery slope for me lol. But I do like the CF look on pieces for this car.

Multiple things going on.

A flat splitter under the current lip will not work with the front diffuser design.
Front Downforce may or may not be greater with a large splitter vs diffuser
Rear Downforce may or may not be less with a large splitter vs diffuser
Change in balance of downforce may occur.

It also picks up cooling air for the front brakes from the underbody.

I'd like to find a replacement for the R front splitter. I'd like to leave the OE in the box and have a sacrificial replacement for everyday use.

I apologize, not doubting what you are saying, just don't understand. Where is the diffuser in the splitter design? On the front vs rear, I agree

For those who may be interested in a little light reading

Pending design I would be in, if I'm not mistaken the enter piece of our three piece has a higher level than the outer piece meaning the APR could not be flat without a gap made in the middle? Sorry but thats the best way to describe it.
