Front Sidemarker Housing Won't Turn

My driver side sidemarker went out I tried to replace it. The problem is that connector seems to be stuck (or I'm an idiot, not sure which one yet). Following both the driver's manual and an installation video, I've tried as hard as i feasibly can to turn the gray connector counter-clockwise but it just won't budge. In the videos that I watched, they turned it with ease but I just can't do it. Anyone else have this problem and if so any solutions?

Push in while turning.

Yea push and wiggle while you’re turning. Sometimes it’s just a pita
