Front parking sensors?

I would like to install something in the front to keep me from running up on a curb and screwing up my lower air dam. Has anyone installed the sensors or camera to monitor the front?

Sensors are not always reliable for a curb.. Rostra makes a unit specific for curb sensing .. You can do a front camera also.. Takes some extra interfaces to add it.. But I know there was a thread about it and how he went about it.. I see yours is a 16.. Do you have the base screen or sync 3 ? I ask because I know there are ways for the base but I am not aware of anything yet that's been confirmed to work with sync 3 yet..

Yes.. That's the large screen.. It's bit different on sync 3.. On MFT you could just run the camera into the video in of the unit and use that without an interface.. But sync 3 doesn't seem to have a video in .. I haven't found it yet.. But I haven't spent a lot of time trying to find it .. If I do I'll let you know..

It is perfect because the video stays on as long as you're under 5mph.. Which if you're parking you will be

I had a 135i and it has a smaller foot print, and I do have a larger vehicle, 07 FJ Cruiser.

I came from a 135i as well. I don't have issue with curbs, but I'll be damned if this isn't hardest car to park that I've ever owned - the long hood makes it quite difficult from me to get evenly between the lines.

The new F-150's have sync-3 and they can be ordered with a 5 camera surround system to include the front camera. There must be a way to do the interface. I know I am looking to put a front camera on my R. Hopefully we can find a good way to do this.

Yes.. Requires the module.. there are other fords that have only front camera also.. But it requires a lot of programming of other modules in the car..

Im sure I can.. issue for me is I don't have a car to test on.. I have already looked at the parts needed.. but just need a car and someone willing to come test.. I won't charge for the labor or anything.. just need to have someone buy the parts.. and play test mule..

The hood bugs me to, it looks like it goes on forever. I had a C6 and its hood didn't obstruct my view as much. Something I have to get use to.

Camera would be a good option, hope we can figure something out!
