Since I have a stripe down the center of my GT, I'm trying to decide on mounting the license plate on the drivers side. I have the collision avoidance option, HID autolamps, and wondered where these sensors are located behind the front grill so I don't cover them by the license plate. Yes, I asked the service manager, and he had no idea. So I turn to my fellow S550 owners. Do you know where the sensors are under the front grill?? Thanks

The collision sensor for adaptive cruise control is in the lower right portion of the grill. The sto n sho plate adapter, or factory front plate holder won't block it. Stripes won't block it as it is not in the bumper per se, but behind the honeycomb.

I believe the night/day sensor is in the center of your dash, at the top. That little round thing.

When you say "collision sensor is in the lower right .. is that passenger or drivers side. I'm not sure what the default way to identify left right sides is.
