I recently took car to dealership for a right headlight replacement, in the process they somehow broke the tabs or whatever holds the bumper flush with the fender. Its about a 4 or 5 inch section right behind the headlight. Anyone have any idea how these two go together? I thought the bumper had tabs that snapped into the fender but looking at bumpers on eBay and tascaparts.com it looks like the bumper actually has holes to receive some type of clips. Looked at fenders also and I am still not seeing any plastic clips. I can't figure out how these two go together. Any help is appreciated.

Oh no, not another one!!! Someone else posted a thread where the dealer did work on it and broke the tab and then tried to glue it. And mine was misaligned from the factory, upon inspection they said it was because of a broken tab!

I'm sad to say that if the tab on the back of the bumper cover is broken, you have to replace the whole bumper cover.

Geez....these tabs are crap!!

No you don't, my clip was broken after my bumper got clipped and the body shop re sprayed my bumper and re attached it. No new bumper cover needed.

Depends whether it was the clip or the tab. There's a replaceable clip like you had, but it attaches to the tab which can break.

OK so I looked at it closely when I cleaned up the car a little while ago. The part on the bumper that the tabs on the fender go into is broken off. Also the tab closest to the hood is broken.

this happened to me when I installed my grille, leaves a small section that sits unflush when I don't push it in manually.

how do we take the bumper cover off without breaking those tabs? couldn't find a way.

if anyone knows, should be easy to just super glue a small tab sized thin washer or something over the tab to fix it
