Better to ask a question than remain ignorant my friend. 55 is the size of the inducer (small part of the fins where air comes in) on the compressor side of the turbo. 58 is the size of the exducer on the turbine side (again small part on the fins where exhaust leaves the turbo). Stock turbo with a good tune, the turbo runs out of breath before you reach the limits of the stock block. Adam will correct me if I'm wrong but the General consensus is that around 400~450 whp, with good torque management at low engine speeds is the safe limit of the stock block.

on an engine with a quick spooling turbo like the EB you can hit full boost really early 2300-2600 rpm. Making a huge amount of torque at low engine speeds can destroy an engine as the pressures can go way above the material limits of the engine while the piston isn't moving fast enough to absorb all the energy created.

So a good tuner will know to back off the timing when the boost ramps up too quick lowering or 'managing' the torque. to protect the motor.
This stops being problem with larger turbos as they spool up much later in the rpm range >4k rpm and you can safely make tons of torque at that speed.

Basically managing the torque curve over the RPM range. You shouldn't worry about it as long as your tuner knows what he's doing.

Thanks a lot guys, this was great info. Currently I'm using livernois and I have been very impressed with their tune. I hit full boost really early and it has made this car so much more fun to drive. Now I need to start looking into the turbo options.
