From the October C&D issue, "The lighter nose of the four-cylinder Mustang is immediately noticeable as it zaps into corners more quickly and easily than the V-8 GT. There is less understeer than in the V-8 version, too. Brake feel is about perfect, with good bite, zero fade, and very little lost travel. Going into the climbing esses, the Eco enters at a very low 106.4 mph. But that low speed means tbat the Eco's tbrottle can be held to the floor the entire time....a clear sign that you're in a car with more chasis than engine. A lack of power kept the Eco Mustang from going quicker. But those problems were solved by the Mustang GT."

And a proper tune on the Ecobeast.

They said zero fade. I killed the stock PP brakes in 4 laps at VIR. They definitely weren't all out. I've also done GPS verified 121 mph through the uphill esses.

Yea there is no doubt, the Eco is such an amazing car. After my tune, I have changed my opinion ten fold, the car drives better, responds better, and fee lbetter overall and the car is still stock per say.

I thinking building the block and running a better turbo system will make this car amazing and overall it honesty won't be that crazy expensive. On top of that, it will be unique and completely original. I miss my mkiv supra quite a bit, but this car has helped me forget about that and remember all of the things that make this car amazing..

Can't wait for the next step with this car!
save up and talk to MAP, figure out a turbo that has the power curve you want and he'll make it happen. you wont even break the 5k$ mark. Ive done the math, even if i build my motor I dont get to what a gt pp premium costs.

Agreed...I had brake fade after 4th lap at Autobahn in Illinois and I wasn't even driving all that hard...brake fade will happen and race pads are a must

I thought this through and it doesn't just come down to output. You are beating the internals buy pushing that 2.3 far outside the normal power. To some its not a matter of just how much power but power delivery and reliability. This is why I dropped the ecoboost for the GT

To each their own though...S550 is sexy in all models

Yeah I got the 6062 kit + accessport and it cost 4500$. Pretty good considering my dealer wanted 13k+ for a similarly optioned gt.

edit: I've only seen 1 instance of pushing the EB too hard and that was an extreme circumstance to say the least. I'm perfectly fine pushing the EB to 410hp for 10,000+ miles. The 370whp on the GT didn't do it for me on the 1 month lease, ESPECIALLY because we only have 91 here in Washington State.

Good to see you got what you wanted. Yes we have only seen 1 instance so far, but reliability is long term not short. Good luck on your build, nice progress so far.

Delivery can be what you want depending on the turbo itself. It can be as right or left to the chart as you want. The internals will hold 400 hp all day easy, still waht i proposed was witha built motor. Built motor and turbo kit with the turbo of your choice doesnt come to what a gt pp premium comes to.

Why are you comparing a premium? Premium is a waste for anyone looking for performance, it is a comfort feature

X plan stock ecoboost is $24,500. Add $600 intercooler, $250 intake, $250 downpipe, $3800 turbo kit with tune. You are at $29,400 running a "safe" 400hp tune and your warranty is void

X plan stock GT is $30,500

Again to each their own, but i went through this whole thing numerous times before selling the ecoboost...its very close money wise and with the GT you get to keep your warranty and you are not beating the internals plus you can go MUCH high HP long term on the GT...didn't make sense to me, but I guess it does to some.

Well thats still 1k less and once you build it the sky is the limit and you'll still be maybe 3k over a stock gt. At that point youll have a waaay more powerfull car, lighter too, that does 34mpg when you want to.
I dont really care about warranty, never have. If anything actually catastrophically fails, less than a half day works will turn the car back to stock for warranty

So you got scared and now are saying it can't be done. You're all over the board and it's impossible to follow. Your entire argument contradicts itself and shouldn't even be in this thread.

I think I will achieve satisfaction with a built block, turbo kit, and make around 400 - 450 reliable horse while still running the car hopefully far less than its newest built potential
