I'm ordering all the parts to replaced the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate in my 3.7. The car will be going force inducted in the future so this is making sure everything is there to handle it. Ordered the steel Spec flywheel, made for the 3.7, plus one of their clutch kits. I went to order a Ford OEM throwout bearing / slave cylinder and this is where it gets interesting. The S550 GT shows a different part number than the S550 3.7. Which is odd - since all aftermarket (stock replacements) use the same part number for the S550 (except for GT350 of course) regardless of 3.7, 2.3 or 5.0.

Ford Part #'s

3.7 = 4R3Z-7A508-AA
5.0 = BR3Z-7A508-B
2.3 = FR3Z-7A508-B

Keep in mind - each of these part numbers carries a different price.

Exedy only lists the following for S550:

BRG0186

Go to LMR's website and you get:

Centric:

LRS-7508A

Fits 2005-2017 Mustang 4.6L and 5.0L GT
-Fits 2005-2017 Mustang 3.7L and 4.0L V6
-Fits 2007-2009 Mustang GT500 5.4L
-Fits 2015-2018 Mustang EcoBoost 2.3L

And on LMR's website the Ford OEM PT:

BR3Z-7A508-B

Fits 2005-2017 Mustang 4.6L and 5.0L GT
-Fits 2005-2017 Mustang 3.7L and 4.0L V6
-Fits 2007-2009 Mustang GT500 5.4L
-Fits 2015-2019 Mustang EcoBoost 2.3L

Went to RockAuto - and they show the actual Centric Part #138.61003 for both 3.7 and 5.0.

So if you check out McLeodracing they list the following for their #1200 series Hydraulic Bearing:

Heavy Duty
Direct Fit OE Replacement
Reliable Operation
Ford Motor Company Equivalent Part# 4R3Z-7A508-AA
Fits 2005-2017 GT, 2008-2009 Bullitt, 2005-2012 V6 and 2007-2009 GT500

Notice they listed the factory 3.7 part number LOL.

Just ordered an OEM Ford part (for the GT it was $30 cheaper) from a Ford Dealer on ebay for $116.

GOOD LORD!!! That's crazy....if it's the same part then why can't they just use one part number no matter what engine it's behind??? THANKS FORD AGAIN!!!

I'm just starting to delve into the slave cylinder part number nightmare myself...went to AM and they show 3 :

McLeod - $120 - Fitment= (05-17 GT; 05-12 V6; 07-09 GT500)

Exedy - $152 - Fitment= (11-19 GT, V6)

Centerforce - $136 - Fitment= (05-17 GT; 05-07 V6; 07-08 GT500)

I'm putting this in my road race car and I just toasted the stocker that's been in there for approx 1.5 yrs....so I'm thinking going back w/another stocker.

Anyone know of any benefits of aftermarket slave cylinder or OEM?? Durability/longevity??? 0.000001 hp gain?? (Hey! I need all the help I can get! LOL)
