Bought a set of the Ford Racing hood struts on a whim whilst in the states a couple of weeks ago (along with a GT350R wheel  )

These specifically: [ame]

Has anyone fitted them? Interestingly (to me) the brackets look the same as the Redline kit - so hood deployment compatible hopefully.

If not, I'll give it a go and post the results here!

We've fitted a few - no problems
Thanks Dave. I didn't think it would be an issue. It's not exactly rocket science mod-wise, especially compared to others I've done :)

Black Thunder not sure how it is in France, but in the UK you should declare literally EVERYTHING to insurance to avoid them having an excuse to not cover your car in case of incident.

Couldn't agree more. Over on the GT86 forums there was a guy who hit a lampost due to black ice. He ended up in a row with his insurers because he had painted his underbonnet braces, (Towers to bulkhead) and put stickers on them. He had declared wheels brakes suspension mods but not told them about the painted bars.. Ridiculous.

I'm sure I heard about a yr ago on radio 4 that a new rule meant that insurance companies could no longer refuse claims due to unrelated factors. I.e. If you bin it and have a sticker it can't be refused because there is no way the sticker could have contributed to the crash, but if you bin it and have an undeclared power mod it could be refused as they can argue the mod was a contributory factor in the accident.

yeah but if it got stolen and there was stickers on it, they could say that the "stickers attracted the attention of the thieves".

It clearly is ridiculous, but knowing its ridiculous means its best to declare everything!

Thy'd have to recover it for that, and they never bother, they just get it proved that it was stolen and pay out. Never a point tracking it down, would cost more than the cars value.
Neighbours R8 got stolen, Camera's picked it up on one of the neighbours houses, his tracker picked it up as well insurance had his payout cleared within a few weeks.
