I finally finished getting the lettering colored in. It's a pain in the rear end but it came out pretty good. I used various sizes of Sharpies acrylic paint pens. I used a fine line to initially outline each letter and then filled them in with a broader tipped one. I did several coats because it doesn't cover completely. I bought clear craft varnish and have put one coat on to bring out a shine and protect the paint. Everything I used is available at any large craft store.
