Ford Performance Lug Nuts

Is anyone using the open ended Ford performance lug nuts? Do they fit in aftermarket wheels that need smaller tuner lugs?

I JUST bought a set last week. I wouldn't feel comfortable using them on aftermarket wheels because the "seat" is exactly the same as the OEM lugs and they look too large for aftermarket wheels. They work great for OEM though. I ended up getting a different set for my aftermarket wheels with the "acorn" style seat.

Thanks for the info. Which lug nuts did you end up using? I have a set of 18x9.5 +38 rpf1 that I want to use as track wheels, but the gorilla nuts from my last mustang won’t work. I will be using a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the dust cap.

Honestly, I'm not sure what brand they are. I got them for free when I bought my wheels but they look just like these.

Best to leave the dust caps off, lest brake heat leave them off for you (typically somewhere in the weeds).

It’s ok to the remove the little protruding cap from the front hubs? Do they have any important function?

I wouldn't remove those, as that opens up the possibility of water intrusion as well.

I thought you were thinking of the center caps on the wheels . . . which if removed should give you enough clearance for those other caps and eliminate the need for spacers.

Yes, that’s those caps are the issue. My rpf1 need need front spacers to clear the caps. I’ll run my rpf1s until I have enough money to pick up some apex wheels.

Does anyone know if the stock studs will have enough thread for 5mm spacers? Maybe the answer is wheel specific.

I bought these, they are Ford Performance M-1012-N. they fit into the small openings on my aftermarket wheels that had tiny spline drive nuts on them.

Read the description, it describes how to tell if they will fit. It's pretty simple:"If you can fit the socket inside the wheel, you can use these lug nuts."

If you can get more than 13 turns of the nut without the spacer you should be OK. That's based on one diameter of full-form M14x1.5 threads for strength development plus 5mm for the spacer.

Alright, got my finger crossed. I have the spacers and lug nuts coming. I’ll let you guys know how it all fits together.

The FRPP were way too big. Couldn't even get them in finger tight.

The open lugs I linked from amazon fit great with no issues.
