Hey folks,

Did a search and nothing came up.

Has anyone used the Ford Owner app for ios or Android with their GT350? The sales pitch states all sorts of info can be had through the app when connected through sync 3 including Vehicle Health Alerts. From the Ford website:

Vehicle Health Alert notifications

Any available VHA notifications will be displayed on your mobile device after you stop your vehicle. VHA provides you with notifications about your vehicle’s oil life, so you can schedule an oil change with your preferred Ford dealer. You’ll also receive alerts when low tire or oil pressure is detected, if your engine starts to overheat, and other potential faults with the following systems:

Restraints and driver assistance
Engine, transmission, and emissions
Checks, fluids, and filters
Brakes and suspension
Alerts will be displayed based on the level of severity (low, medium, and high). Anytime you see an alert, you will be presented an option to call Roadside Assistance or a Ford dealer for support. Depending on the issue, you may also be provided information on what could be causing the problem, safety concerns you should be aware of, and steps you can take to resolve the issue. These are just a few ways in which VHA can help you make informed service decisions and maintain your vehicle’s health.
*Initially available with 2016 Edge, Expedition, F-150, Fiesta, Flex, Mustang, and Taurus vehicles. Other vehicle availability will be announced at a later date. Ford Owner mobile app is available through a free download through the App Store® and Google Play™. Message and data rates may apply.

Reviews of the app (at least on the Apple site) are all over the place. Of course, limp mode applicability comes to mind...

Get Vehicle Health Alerts with the Ford Owner mobile app

HELP FOR YOUR:
2016 Mustang with SYNC® 3 Change

Help keep your vehicle in optimal shape with Vehicle Health Alerts (VHA). SYNC® 3 and the Ford Owner mobile app* collect vehicle diagnostic data and display notifications about your vehicle’s health on your mobile device.27
Because VHA receives diagnostic data directly from your vehicle, these alerts provide an up-to-date view of your vehicle’s health. For instance, these alerts can give you a better understanding of what a warning light means and its severity, what could be causing the problem, and steps you can take to resolve it.

Compatibility: Requires iOS 6 and later. Compatible with Android devices running 4.4 and up.
Connect your device to receive alerts

To receive alerts, your mobile device must be connected to SYNC 3 via Bluetooth® (for Android devices) or with a USB cable (for iOS devices).43, 48 The first time you connect, you will use the Ford Owner mobile app and the SYNC 3 touchscreen to establish the connection, and grant any personal permissions (if required). See how to connect your device to SYNC 3.

Once you’re connected and your vehicle is in motion, SYNC 3 will collect diagnostic data as it monitors your vehicle’s systems. The Ford Owner mobile app will display a lock screen on your mobile device while you’re driving, but you can still enjoy other convenient SYNC 3 features as you normally would.

Note: The first time you connect, the lock screen will remain on your device until the first time you stop your vehicle. The lock screen will turn off after you drive, and stop your vehicle again. You can remove the lock screen at any time by disconnecting your device from SYNC. Once the lock screen is off, the app will display any available alerts on your mobile device.

Then I checked My ford owner account.....

Vehicle Health Report is not available for your vehicle.
Vehicle Health Report varies by trim level and model year and is available in certain SYNC-equipped vehicles purchased in the United States. If you are a US vehicle owner and feel that you have received this message in error, please contact the Customer Relationship Center

So I guess it doesn't work for GT350's??

a customer of mine had that "vehicle health report not available" issue with his F150. the fix was going onto www.syncmyride.com and registering your vehicle there. if you haven't done that, try it, might work

I got a health report on my F150, but yeah, I had to register and provide the VIN# first.

Hey Tank,

USMC0341 provided all of the correct info including that the Vehicle Health Alerts are vehicle specific. You can check your SYNC account to see if this feature is available or you can send the VIN in a PM and I can take a look for you.

Update:

Thanks for your offer Cara. I'll keep trying stuff and get back to you if needed.

So I downloaded the app and in it's stock version (not connected to the 350), it provides a bunch of general information through screen shots and videos on the mustang.

I got in my GT350 and connected the phone through USB which you must do to sync the app to the car. I got to the point where my center screen showed the notice in the first pic below. I thought is was interesting that it said it was collecting info.....

I then attempted to access the app on the phone to get the info and got the message in the second pic when prompted to log in (I had logged in previously but got kick out at sometime).

I did not get any data on my 350 but will post anything that might come from all this.
