All this talk of retro combined with modern reminded me of the Mach 40. If they can come up with anything half as stunning as this baby, it will be game over. Combination of the 1969 Mustang fastback and the GT40.
It has the GT40's 5.4L dual overhead cam v8 upgraded with a Wipple 4L supercharger and drive by wire throttle. The motor was also converted to a flex-fuel system. The end result is an engine capable of 600 to 850hp. :hail: There were some great pics from Auto mag that i had to post here..The Mach 40 was originally the brainchild of Terry Lipscomb, who wanted to know how a 1969 Ford Mustang fastback would look if it were combined with the legendary Le Mans winning Ford GT40, so he enlisted Mike Miernik to sketch what a hybrid of the 1969 Mustang and GT40 would look like. Pleased with the results, the two men took the design to Oregon-based Eckertās Rod & Custom and Hardison Metal Shaping to turn the drawing into a reality. The build, which took three years to complete, used a wrecked Ford GTās chassis and powertrain, and the body of a 1969 Mustang Mach 1.
