Just checked Fords web site and see they're selling Car Covers, they look rather good and even have the Mustang Logo stamped on them, little on the expensive side though, my question is although my car will be kept in a garage I was thinking of going for the Outdoor one (my OCD kicking in) and was wondering if it would be ok used inside a garage?

The only problem with car covers is the car needs to be clean when you put it on.

So you would need to clean it after every use which is where I drop the idea of a cover. I would be looking for excuses NOT to drive the car as I wouldn't want to clean it after ever use.

In answer to your question - yes. Fine to use inside as the covers should be breathable.

I wouldn't recommend any cover for outside use though as they can do more harm thank good. Dust/dirt/grit gets under the cover and the wind effectively scrubs it into the paint.

Couldn't find the accessories on the Ford UK website - do you have a link?

Have to agree this did cross my mind although I wouldn't be using the car that often, maybe every other weekend during the summer months. But would it be better to use an indoor cover or an outdoor cover in a garage, bit worried that an outdoor cover indoors might not breath as well as it being outside in the open.

I wouldn't worry. I think they use Covercraft covers, with Noah fabric which is breathable.

This is what I had on my S197 and it lived in a garage for 7 years like it with no issues.

If it's going to be living in a garage why bother with a cover?

As has been mentioned, if the car is dirty when you put it on then you'll be scouring the paint as you put it on, then again when you take it off, not to mention the cover will pick up some of that dirt which will still be there next time even after the car has been cleaned.

Unless there's something going on in your garage that your car specifically needs protecting from, I wouldn't bother.

I had a car cover for my Trans Am a few years ago, even though it was fleece lined, double stitched hems, perfect fit, etc as JimBoy mentions it still scratches the hell out of the paintwork.

In terms of car covers, i've gone the cheap and cheerful option, it's unbranded and cost no more than £20, fits all cars 14-16ft in length. Why you ask? Well why would i openly show off what car is under the covers when it's parked on the drive way.

And before anyone asks, it's a car cover for when i go on holiday so i don't have acidic bird sh1t on my car from one of the tree's that overhang my driveway. I also hate cleaning bird sh1t off my car.

You need a ceramic coating to combat that bird lime, put some of your wrap cash towards that.
