Next year the truck will also have box reinforcements, floor pan tunnels and wheelhouse parts of Micromill aluminum instead of conventional aluminum.

Good stuff! This is going to account for some significant weight savings in the upcoming years.

Would be great it they could do all the skin of the Mustang in aluminum, and clearly the potential to do many more parts of the vehicles as mentioned.

Yep, would love to see the S550 get in the 3500-3600 pound range as the generation goes on. :ford:

Just like last time they will likely drop weight in one place and add it somewhere else. Never will I buy into fords weight loss claims until I see it.

The F150 was accurate on its weight loss. I foresee the same thing happening for the Mustang.

Quoted for truth, that was all the rumor mill via the media and internet. Ford was steadfastly quiet on the issue for a reason as we all now know.
