Where is that woosh everyone talk about when installing an intake on this car. When I say woosh I don't mean the BOV sound. I was expecting a little more noise but unless i go wot my JLT doesn't seem to make too much noise. I guess this is normal?

Are you recirculating the BOV with the hose into the JLT tube or is the spout capped off on the JLT? I had a JLT but when I switched to an intake with aluminum tubing the whoosh sound resonated/echoed louder.

I have had the JLT intake for over 20k miles now. The only time you hear the intake is when you close the throttle from WOT acceleration. I have the recirculating valve hooked up to the intake as stock.

That is normal, Boosted. The JLT is a quieter intake because of the box design surrounding the filter. The loudest induction noises will happen with the all metal intakes, such as the MMR or MAP. The noises will resonate and are pretty loud, in my opinion. The JLT, to me, is between the metal intakes and the sealed box units, like the Airaid or Corsa. A completely sealed box will be the quietest. With my JLT, I could hear the intake under moderate to heavy throttle, but it was otherwise unassuming to most. I've also been recirculating lately and it's even quieter sounding now with only a tiny amount of BPV noise echoing through the intake.

Thanks guys. It never crossed my mind that metal tubing will produce more noise vs plsstic. That make perfect sense. I love my JLT. Always used JLT intake with all of my previous GT's. Not sure if it's a new thing but i noticed this 2nd JLT intake purchase (sold the first one) it came with a foam to block hot air while not moving according to JLT. I thought that was very cool but not so sure if it will really help tbh. I really love the humongous look tho. 5"+ ID at the filter I believe? probably have it custom painted too. I really went back n fourth on intake than decided why the heck not!? Under hood need bling love too I guess lol.

I've always said.. I wish some one made something JLT style but with metal tubing for sound.

I love the sound of my MMR CAI, but I'm not too happy with it's placement and design.. I want something that looks more stock but sounds bad ass at the same time.

You could sell the MMR and purchase this metal intake tube from Ultimate Racing for the stock airbox, delete the resonator (shift knob looking thing), and throw in a high flowing filter. That'd make some noise and more than likely offer better performance.
