So I had an unfortunate event today. Was ran off the road by another driver, and unfortunately I slid into the curb. This resulted in a slightly cracked rear left rim, and the tire being toed in towards the driver side. Bumps and noises like crazy now. What to do??!!:frusty:

First off, if you was FML'd, you would be hurt. So, let's start by saying I'm glad you are ok.

Next up, get it towed to either dealer or your favorite body shop. Notify your insurance company, and file a claim. Even if you decide to pay for it yourself, you'll have the process of them covering it started. Then, decide weather to let them cover or you pay for it. Then you just wait.

If you don't have rental policy on your coverage, then you might have to thumb a ride or come out of pocket for one. That's the biggest worry you have right now.

See, life not f'd aftersll.

Well I got it to a shop to be looked over and within 10 minutes I had my answer. Trailing arm is broken and a cracked rim. Not too bad in the end. Trailing arm is like $50 and who knows what ford wants for an oem rim, scared to check lol. Only negative side? Arm is on back order in the entire state of Florida until June 29th. And I'd rather just keep insurance out of it, that way I have no claim ever filed lol, considering they'll say it was a "phantom driver" that cut me off.

On another note, glad to see all the caring from the M6G community. Thanks brothers! She'll be back on the road before we know it

Did you exchange insurance information with the driver? Their insurance should have to cover the cost of repairs if so, because they're at fault if they merged into your lane forcing you into the curb.

Doubtful if ran off the road the other person stopped. It's FL after all.

FL is also a no fault state so it wouldn't matter.

I would have, but not a single person stopped. I was literally sitting there all by my lonesome lol, and jeez, $400 for one rim...sure are proud of them huh?

NY is a no fault state also, that's not actually how a no fault state works, someone is still at fault for the accident, no fault applies to lawsuits. I actually had to look stuff up because my friend recently had an accident, so we looked into it.

I ended up getting a dash cam due to so many negligent drivers.
I am very tempted to grab one, how much did it cost? Does it just always run, or is it a thing where it activates in the event of a crash and records the prior few seconds?

glad to hear you are ok. Typicaly, dash cams will start recording when the car is on and continually record until the car is turned off by wiring it to an ignition powered fuse. 4 cars at the house are wired up with dash cams

I went with a basic cam. I paid $100 for the 8gb model on Amazon but right now it's $60. It constantly runs when the car is on and the memory will rewrite over itself when its full. http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Dashboard-Accident-Recorder-TT-CD04/dp/B00KAY2DJM

Here's a video that I saw that I used to base my purchase on. [ame]

I haven't used mine yet since I'm overseas right now but my car has been delivered in the states and I get to pick it up in less than 2 weeks. With the amount of negligent drivers and insurance scammers in the U.S. I decided it would be good to have some type of video evidence for myself.

Yeah. For that price, you would be kind of silly to not get one. My last accident 5 years ago, a guy jumped a red light and hit me making a left turn on a green arrow, and they sided with him because I was making a left. Wish I had proof that I had the arrow.

Yeah recent stories here and elsewhere convinced me to buy a dash cam. Now I have one in the Mustang and in the truck. Cheap insurance, IMO.
