Flowmaster super 10 dual in/dual out muffler

Hello,

Just bought a lightly used 2015 Mustang Gt Premium 6 speed (love it). Looking at a new exhaust setup and need some advice. Doing lots of digging on you tube I decided I really love the sound of two setups. The first would be just a Roush axle back + x/h pipe. The second is a guy who replaced his factory resonator with a flowmaster dual in/out super 10 muffler and ran straight pipes out the back. The second setup sounds great and only costs $70 plus a shop to weld and and run straight pipes. The big question, would there be any performance difference between the two setups??? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I had this setup for a couple months. The videos I heard on eBay sounded nothing like what it sounded like in person on my vehicle. I had a dual in/dual out one chamber flowmaster with 18 inch long, 4 inch double wall tips out back. It sounded just like stock but much louder. Almost had a European like V8 sound (think Audi) to it. I know there's a segment of people who would love that particular sound. It just wasn't the sound I was looking for.

Flowmaster doesn't make anything worth buying for the S550 besides muffler deletes, if that's your thing. So many better options available that sound great, don't drone. Corsa, Borla, AWE, Krona, ARH.

Look at the Solo Performance kits. It replaces the resonator with a x-pipe non-chambered center muffler and has two adjustable resonators where the factory mufflers are.

Full 3", plently of volume, deep tone at low load/rpms and screams at high load/rpms, and no drone.

I will tell you right now with 100% no bs, do not buy the super 10s

my car came with them installed and they sound good and they're nice and loud but the drone was unbearable. only took a handful of times for my wife to ride in my car with them and she said when we get home you're buying new exhaust.

borla s type now. some times I feel they're a little quiet but I think they're louder than I realize. they just do a better job of not being obnoxisou in cabin

What kind of exhaust tone are you looking for?

Looking for a middle of the road rumble, but when you hit the highs not super raspy. Coming from an Infiniti G37 with muffler deletes. I leave for work at 3am so nothing super loud, but the stock exhaust is way quieter than my g37 was. Love the way the rouch axle backs with a h pipe sound on Video but know that is prob too much volume for my neibors at 3 am. Also like how the borla S axle backs sound.

The muffler deletes sound good on the mustangs, but not as"cleaned up" as the axle back systems. If there's no performance to gain I would rather spend the least amount of money I can to sound good. If there is petformance to gain I don't mind saving and spending the extra money.

I'd stick with something active if you leave at that hour. A lot of people will tell you to F the neighbors but they're a$$holes.

Yeah be smart and careful pairing the Roush with an off-road X or H pipe. It’s loud. You gotta be about that life to DD it that loud. If you plan to add headers, I would rethink the Roush choice as it’s one of the loudest on the market. Just my 2 cents brother. Good luck :cheers:

Muffler deletes will be loud, think Corsa Extreme with no resonator loud.

I've had muffler deletes also and that's the exact issue I had with them. While I loved the aggressiveness and volume of the setup, they had a very raw sound at moderate and above acceleration. Upper rpms could get very raspy with a heavy foot as well. The solution I found was the Dynomax race mini bullets. What they do is clear out the rasp and smooth out the exhaust note of your setup without altering the note or the aggressiveness and volume. They're very popular with the Challenger/Charger guys for that reason. That's where I got the idea from.

What resulted with my ride is same sound as the muffler deletes, but a much more controlled exhaust note while still being just as aggressive and loud.

I heard the video below and decided to give the Dynomax race mini bullets a try. Fortunately, that's exactly how they sound in person. I was instantly 100% satisfied. I'll have the bullets on my ride for the duration. They almost sounds like Corsa Extreme's if they were deeper, fuller, and with less high pitch rasp.
