First involuntary "Drifting" experience !

I had my first involuntary "Drifting" experience this noon when I came out from eat with colleagues.

I could say that the tires does not hold in a heavy Rain condition ! And the Rain/Snow mode is really good.
When you engages this mode, the car comes really more smoother with the wheels.

Anyone else had this experience ? :headbonk:

I'll stay on Pirellis this season and will buy some proper winter tyres in few months. Not sure about the next summer tho, I really heard only bad things about those Pirellis :/

Yes. Been there, done that :doh:

When I collected my car, it was raining like it had never rained before. Dealer even recommended me to use the Rain/Snow mode - needless to say, I didn't....

New wheels and tyres and being mounted as I write this (Michelin Pilot Sport).

Give us your feedback about the Michelin Pilot Sport, so if they are really good then I'll buy a set next summer.

But I can say this; my Audi A6 came with the same Pirelli tyres as the Mustang. Terrible traction when wet. Family and I, driving along motorway at 120, very wet. The car started to slide all over the place (thanks to quattro no problems in the end). Scared the living crap out of me. Changed to Michelin's. Problem solved.

The grip in wet or dry is phenominal with the Pilot Sport tyres. Simply the best. Slightly softer ride too as the Michelin's use a softer compound than Pirelli. Only minus point I know of with the Michelin's is that they wear quicker. But I have done over 35000 kms in my A6 and I still have 6.5mm all round

That's good when they have a long lifecycle

On my old Megane RS I had UNIROYAL RainSport 3 and I've been really surprised of them.
My car never drift from the front with this tires.

But for the Mustang I don't know if they could be that good :shrug:

Lots of guys on the "american" side of this forum use them and all say the same. The best.

If you are looking at spinning the wheels, I don't think that will be a problem at all as the Mustang has so much power (at least the GT).

On my first drive I was in a rain storm/highway/heavy traffic situation doing 80kmph and was an ok, yet exciting experience. At that time I didn't know you can change the driving modes while driving.
The next day I was doing country side roads and felt the spin at every roundabout (in Belgium we have a lot) so I tried the snow/wet mode and it really makes a difference. Today during some dry periods I finally tried sport plus, man not only the car come even more alive but also the sound... really cool! Last night I also tried the steering mode, comfort really sucked IMO the rest is pretty sweet, actually normal should be called comfort.

Talked to a car inspector on Saturday and he claimed the PP zeros are the best tires you can get but don't expect more of 15k KM's out of them.

I checked the tires @NewMustangDE bought in 19" size and where about the same price as the PP zero's, so once there finished Ill get those.
