Finding Strategy code for S550

Hi all, I've paid for a tune and SCT from team JDM, however they've asked me for my strategy code. Normally a SCT tuner would show you this, does anyone know of another way of finding it? Will one of those one size fits all diagnostic computers at th local mechanics reveal it?

JDM were a bit surprised when they asked me for the computer code originally. It's on the sticker near the fusebox but instead of a 4 character code, by sticker just says 'J'

Gibbo is actually the chap that lead me to JDM tuning in the first place!

Here's a poor picture of my computer code sticker, notice the odd 'J' code



Now the code that starts with H/W: FR3A looks a lot like the example JDM sent me, but I don't want to risk it. Not wasting $300+ on a custom tune that may not work. Been dying to get that restrictor out of the Steeda CAI as well

Where are you in UK? If your not far I can plug my SCT into your car and pull your strategy code with it. :)

Nope, and SCT can diagnose any car without needing to be paired to it.

You only need to pair or marry and SCT to a vehicle when flashing a tune, reading strategy, clearing DTC's, doing crank re-learn it can do on any car.

I am based in Stoke-on-Trent, so if you wish to drive up this way I will happily pull your strategy code. :)

I'm getting my local mechanic to plug in his diagnostic computer to day to see if we can find the strategy code, although this is unlikely. His garage is 2 mile away so it's worth trying for nothing:

Failing that JDM have said they will ship the SCT I've bought with them so I can find the strategy code, and then they can just email over the custom tune later.

I'm still driving my GT thinking that a good tune could make so much of a difference to this vehicle.

Tune transforms them, all the stuff I did to my intake my little improvements which when all added together made a noticeable improvement, but the tune blue them all away. These cars with a tune are in a different league to drive and they also move a damn site faster tuned as well.

You will love the JDM tune, I tried SCT and JDM, though power wise both are similar the JDM tune is silky smooth to drive. :)

I think with tuning people put too much emphasis on power figures, it's all on paper. I'd take 420 usable horses that feel like they're there when i need them over 460 on paper only available at the screaming top end.

Thats why a tune is so good on these cars, it relaxes the torque demand tables so the car just feels a lot more alive, more responsive and you get some great torque gains down low. :)
