Thanks. So without the X-Pipe headers it will sound exactly the same as the one in the video I uploaded with muffler etc?

Sounds nice by the way, not offensively loud but a nice rumble
Yes:)

Ahh nice. It does sound a little quieter in your vid up there.

Can you describe the difference between xpipe & res? Was the xpipe too shouty? Raspy? Did the volume drop dramatically after swapping in the res?
Basically the resonator is an H pipe (I cut one open to have a look inside).
For me The Xpipe is just to raspy, and a bit to loud.

The resonator sounds very much like stock, but with slightly more volume.

From inside the car it’s hardly noticeable especially at low revs, but from outside there’s a nice deep rumble, but without high volume. It makes the engine seem very smooth, whereas with the Xpipe, I felt the engine note was harsh.

Some folk love the really loud raspy sound but it’s not for me.

Even Mac swapped out his Xpipe for a resonator after he’d fitted the headers:cheers:

Here’s the sound with headers, & resonator

That certainly sounds like something I would prefer; the resonator option.

However, the ones sold through Ford UK only seem to come in the "Sport" variety - i.e. no "Touring" version. Which is the one I have been leaning to following my youtube listening adventure.

So I guess it would be a case of buying the "normal" touring version then grabbing the Borla resonator separately.

Can't quite believe that Ford think they can charge ÂŁ1700 for it though. May have a word with Nemesis & see if they can get these ones in.

I have a brand new unused Borla resonator sitting in the garage. Would let it go for ÂŁ175... which is ÂŁ100 less than the U.K. suppliers:)

Awesome to see the comparison, does make quite a difference. I may do as you have done; start with the full x pipe version & potentially add the resonator at a later date.

Thanks again Andy, you have no idea how many hours I've searched the internet, and all along the exact video I needed was right on your page! I knew you had done vids before, but not as many as I have just seen! All very good by the way...

Been looking for a new foam cannon & that one you have looks pretty decent!

Borla touring hits the spot. Unless you want the EU approval plate on the latest Ford by Borla Touring. Can't help thinking that will cost more for the same thing.

Back on topic for this thread I emailed FordPartsUK to explain that the new site doesn't work. They've helpfully explained that they have no problems with the website and told me how to use it. I've explained how it doesn't work, and maybe they should check. More later.

Good find. First vid I've seen of the non xpipe version! Would also like a sound clip though... Haven't found one yet.
Spoke to Borla in US and apparently the exhaust in this sound clip is similar to the the Touring European complaint one that Ford sell in UK

Will I need to do a wheel alignment after fitting springs and wheel spacers?

Mike at Modurstang told me not needed, and since then done 5 thousand miles and the tires not a mark on them
