First and foremost I have to say I love this thing. Hard to believe we live in an age where even a V6 can perform well. Back on topic, I decided to head to track today and I was quite pleased with how well this car did (even with my lack of driver skill) in the 1/4 mile. Even the V8 crowd was surprised of the V6 trap speeds.
With trapspeeds at 101.24 I know 13's are there but the driver mod is lacking.

One thing I did notice is the throttle response is lacking which makes launching difficult. I also notice the car bogs at 3rd gear (seemingly pulling timing or perhaps once again more practice on my part) in 3rd gear where the best moves are at. I am sure a 93 octane tune would fix those issues along with more practice. My 60FT times are awful and need work. Nonetheless I am happy and I hit my goal of 14.4 in the 1/4.

Very nice! Get your 60' down to around 2.0-2.1 and you will see 13.8-13.9. Running in 55F weather is awesome, too bad in Florida it doesn't happen much often :( I assume all stock?

It will get quicker for sure after a couple thousand miles, also...one thing i found out with the stock tune...if your shufting too high, say around 6700, the motor will bounce off the rev limiter, and it shuts the throttle, so when you stab it into the next gear, the throttle lags behind your input. You need to shift around 6400 to avoid this. Took me a while to figure out what was causing that bog sensation when i reved it out to 6700, since i think the stock limit is at 6750. I raised the limit to 7300 on my tune, and it no longer does this when i shift at 6700 to 6800. Decent times thiugh for sure, especially since it only has 200 miles on it. It will get alot quicker for sure as it breaks in. I know mine sure did

Thanks for the information. I had a gut feeling it was some type of a input synch issue where it was lagging behind driver input but I just could not put my finger on it. It is a reflex of mine to wind out a high revving n/a engine that continues to pull up top so I did not think of that. Definitely cannot wait to get the tune (probably will go with Torrie) to run 93 and fix the pedal lag issues. Yes my 60FT times were awful (lowest of the day 2.4). I basically was taking off as if I were at a stop light instead of launching. I definitely have a lot to learn.

101.25 mph and assuming the car, driver and fuel =~3700 lbs comes out to 296 crank hp, looks like a healthy motor for only having 200 miles on it.

Id wait for the mpt tune, they are showing pretty awesome gains. Nobody really knows what tunes tune net you since nobody has dynoed them yet. The bama also seems like a good option. Im waiting for my x4 to come back before i canntest my bama tune, ill let you knownhow it compares with torries

A $119.00 will take care of the lag problum with a JMS PedalMAX that increases the voltage from the throttle pedal to the throttle body.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad you are doing the beta testing so we can know what works the best. I probably will do just that and wait to see how the MPT does. I think I am going start out with the tune with stock exhaust to see what improvements the tune alone will make and then go from there.

Yep, definitely well aware of the PedalMAX. I think I will just wait it out for the tune and instead of just upping the voltage on the DBW.

a tune barely cost any more, will give you better response, and more power....in the case of the MPT tune, quite a bit more power. nothing wrong with the jms, I just think its way over priced for what it actually gives you. the stumble when up shifting isd caused by the motor hitting the 6700rpm rev limit, a tune gets rid of that. when I bounce off that limit, my car is .2-.3 slower during my tests

Yep that is exactly what happened to me, just a spot of deadness because I wound it up. Can't wait to get a tune eventually. There was a guy who had a S197 Cyclone run low 13's with stock everything down to airbox and exhaust with just a tune the prior time I went to the track (back when I had my ZX3). My goal is to maximize what is on the car now and then attack the weaknesses from there. Right now I am just enjoying her how she is, this thing is a dream and a solid daily driver.
