UPDATE 05 Aug 22 Re: US Production – MY22 FINAL Orders (Model End) for MY22 at 10 Aug 2022;

MY22 FINAL Orders have been brought forward to 10 Aug 22

".......the final day to submit new customer retail orders for 2022 Model Year Escape and Mustang is August 10, 2022.

Retail ordering reopens for 23MY later this year

SUMMARY

Escape and Mustang continue to experience high customer demand. We are making the decision to pause and no longer accept new 2022 Model Year Escape and Mustang retail orders after August 10, 2022 to focus on existing orders.

After August 10, 2022 and for the remainder of the 2022 model year, dealers will continue to be able to submit orders for (existing) Escape and Mustang dealer stock inventory and if selected for scheduling within existing commodity constraints, customers will be able to purchase these vehicles from dealers upon arrival.

We will start retail ordering for the 2023 Model Year Escape and Mustang later this year.

KEY DATES

August 10, 2022: Dealers have until 10pm EDT to submit new 2022 Escape and Mustang retail orders

WBDO/CONCEPs will no longer accept new retail orders after this date and time"

New customer retail orders will resume with the opening of the 2023 Model Year Escape and Mustang later this year"

UK orders (and I suspect it'll be the same for the rest of Europe) were halted late last month and it's not even clear if we'll get any '23MY allocation.

😞

In Australia, our Sales are also Suspended (from last month), and with this news, will not be re-opened until MY23 (I hope). :(

I'm somewhat surprised Ford didn't stop sooner.

I hope everyone is able to secure what they are after.

I'd rather have Ford stop and fill orders than cancel, as they did in MY '21.

Right-hand drive Mustangs have always been a niche market and probably not lucrative for Ford especially in current times.

I wouldn't expect the Mustang not coming to Europe in 2023.

However my guess is that this time they won't convert any MY22 orders in MY23 and simply cancel the order if it can't be fulfilled.

I was correct when I ordered my EU Mustang back in April. I had the feeling the window of opportunity was about to close.

I guess that Mustang will come to EU also in the MY23, for the S650 it's a different story, we will see.

1/3rd of the world drives with LHD - The biggest LHD market for the mustang is Australia - it's already been stated by Ford they will get the next gen. A LHD S650 is coming.

Only concern about Europe/UK getting the S650 is these stupid EU laws on fleet emissions, the U.K. still follow's these laws. Most European car makers have dropped anything over a inline 6 - BMW has said the last gen of it's V8 will have to use a hybrid motor to pass the Rules.
Would be expecting a EU/UK S650 to have some hybrid system for a V8, if we get one at all.
